Just for that ball scene, Evan Call wrote a new waltz, teachers of a dancing school choreographed and danced it, and then animators drew it watching that dancing video. A true masterpiece.
I love how the aristocrats in this show are actually competent at ruling and making decisions, such a rarity in anime First moment I really noticed it is when the graf immediately knew frieren didn't kill the guard
@@gunsmithcat7542 You can be kind and incompetent at the same time. Also, I don't know what history books you're reading, but they're rarely portrayed that way as a whole.
@@gunsmithcat7542 Aren't you the guy that said that if you were to make a story you would make it so that all of the women in it aspire to be housewives? And all that don't would be portrayed as evil?
@@Zeromortisimus Because they totally did that just for the moeny. Also, they got that pocket change when they STARTED they journey, back when they were still level 1 no-name adventurer's and people were setting off to (try and) defeat the Demon King ever yother day.
@@martar.2085tell me about it. When I first heard that Frieren will get an anime I thought “there is no way they could make it as good as the manga”. Look at it now
Do you notice on yourself times where you are more sober mature versus times when you are more goofy childish? I think this three months with Gabel did leave an (temporary) imprint of deeper thoughts.
The pacing of the story slowing down with every episode is beautiful to me. With every chapter and arc, the time jumps between them are smaller. This is not only an indicator of we are aproaching to a theorical "importan plot point", but is an indicator of Frieren is starting to live the day with Fern and Stark. Before you could se one chapter, and the next would be a whole year after. Frieren maybe dosent realice this but this itself is an proof of her inner development
While she isn't _physically_ his type, I do think Sein has grown to appreciate Frieren more than he perhaps realises. He gets all these little moments whenever she does something impressive that puts her ages-long experience and maturity on full display, where he just kind of... looks. and reassesses, maybe. I think he's starting to realise that while she may not _look_ her age, there's more to a person than looks alone, and that what's hiding underneath her youthful surface appearance is someone who is very complex and has more life experience than he could ever fathom. And I genuinely wouldn't put it past him if he's found himself growing a little infatuated after all. I think his offer to dance was genuine, here. (But sorry, Sein, if _Himmel_ wasn't successful, you probably shouldn't get your hopes up. xD)
I love that Frieren and Fern are always very matter-of-fact and deadpan in their delivery of whatever they're saying and Stark is always very dramatic when reacting to whatever they or any other character says or does and ends up yelling out what he thinks.
The dance scene is hand-drawn by animators without any CG. After motion-capturing a professional dancer's dance, they used it as a reference and finished everything by hand.
They're halfway to Aüßerst, not to Aureole, yet. But no matter, Bros'll get that few episodes from now, anyway. & just wanted to say: really great discussion. From fellow shippers & not just that. XD
18:18〜 All the dances are hand-drawn and waltz music is specially made for this scene. Also, the instrument is correctly drawn to play with fingers and bows. The animators did a great job
Absolutely love the character writing in this show. Love me some fantasy fantasy and not isekai fantasy. Frieren has shot up in my personal top 10 anime of all time.
to me, the dance sequence was the animation of the year. I don't care how epic jujutsu Kaisen fight are, this kind of care to something that isn't a fight is way too rare in shonen
I like Frieren's, "if I can't learn how to game it, it doesn't interest me" attitude towards other magic systems. She'd be very annoying to play against in a strategy game. That being said, she was the one who (according to Lugner) spearheaded the adoption of Zoltraak into humaniity's magic system, so I'm sure she could deconstruct Goddess magic as well if she felt it important enough, the way the overwhelming power of Zoltraak pushed her and others to want to understand that particular aspect of Demon magic.
She can't deconstruct goddess magic simply because she doesn't have the knack for it. Qual was a mage, so zoltraak was still in frieren's field of expertise. But using goddess magic requires innate talent for it which she doesn't have.
@@soumyajitmandal6028 She says it's "difficult", not impossible, if you're not born with the knack. Also, [SPOILERS IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED AHEAD] . . . . . . . she does use goddess magic in episode 17, she's just not very good at it.
@@soumyajitmandal6028 It's divine magic, it probably requires a mindset that she just doesn't have. Her whole thing is that she likes systematized knowledge.
The priests we’ve seen have a deep faith/connection to the Goddess, it’s not through analytical logic to learn it. I can see the parallel to Buddhist monks chanting mantras, which is common tradition in Japan, that is not learned through reasoning, but is powerful through faith.
@@WavPlayCreativ According to the text of the series, Frieren says anyone can learn it, but it's easier if you're born with the "knack" for it. All you need is a copy of the holy scriptures. We see in this series Frieren and another mage using Goddess magic.
So many reactors doing Solo Leveling. I'd love to see their reactions to a series like 7th Time Loop instead. Great series but currently flying under most reactor's radar.
