As someone whos has only dabbled in SD2 and not nearly sweaty enough for Red Dragon, I will say that WARNO is absolutely a blast once you get past that 10-12 hour learning curve.

I picked it up on July and it hasn't been too bad to adjust to. I'd recommend playing vs AI to learn how the units work and then some 10v10's for chaotic low-repsonsibility introduction to MP (just don't spam one type of unit especially planes or artillery)

I feel like Sotek should have prioritised bombing the AA early. It would have completely opened up the field. Mix90 would have been forced to keep investing in AA and in the mean time, planes taking no damage could just bomb with impunity taking only the reload time to turn around. If youre going that heavy on air you need it coming in and out constantly. You cant have them constantly being hit for free. The Tmanplays vs Mix90 of this 0.5 Season being the perfect example. Using the Strike Eagle to hit Stingers which is an expensive use of point but means the Eagles are coming in with impunity, taking no damage, and turning around it in 2 mins. Literally by the time Mix90 could bring a new tank in, the Eagle was ready again. And thats no accounting for the HE, the AA plane strafes, Helos and general suppression other air was able to provide. Sotek would have needed half the number of planes to effect the same suppression if they weren't constantly being hit.

Completely correct. I do have to add though, that taking out enemy AA is a very tedious and microintensive task that only the top players can achieve WHILE also not losing on the rest of the front. Those strike eagles were nasty though.

Hey Vulcan, what is your opinion on the Blowpipes for British decks? Are they at all useful?

I'm not vulcan, but the blowpipe is rather terrible with 30% accuracy unless you upvet them twice, and then they have low availability not worth it in my opinion

@@personon1 with the AA rework, they get an accuracy bonus based on the distance to the target now, so if something flies right over them they're much more likely to hit. I think they were actually pretty decent for the price before, an individual Blowpipe might be totally unreliable but 4 Blowpipes firing together could score at least one hit about 75% of the time, which is not actually bad for only 40 points of manpads, but now they're probably much better. Plus each team gets two SMGs each, so if you're taking them out in groups of 4, that's like having a few extra close combat squads with Exceptional stealth in the AA tab, and you can spread them out around a town or treeline to avoid losing them all to one bomb or artillery strike.

Im not Vulcan, but 15 blowpipes is really funny to see when some poor guy flys over your units. They also are good decoys as then people dont know where to arty to hit your SAS
