Old Videos serie shows new video SOTKA. I shooted this video at years 2000-2003. Sotka means a scaup duck but it also included letters OTK, which was finnish cooperative company. OTK woodworking company has been established 1941, but only the smokestack completed when the war interrupted project. Operation was started at an old Varikonniemi sawmill. Construction continued after war immediately and the workshop completed at 1946. The powerplant and the sawmill comleted next year and the woodworking factory at 1948. Many expansion has been performed later.
The mark has been renovated nowadays, because it was polluted by chlorophenol and the power plant includes asbestos, PCB and commutator oil.
