You need a gem, get one that has some decent value like the garnet(You can get one in a pot near the doppleganger10 fight). To get it, u can do an wolf jump tech or just get the double jump and go back there.
You need the fairy's dialogue to be done at the librarian's cutscene. So , save your visit to the librarian and save the first fairy usage for when you want to interact with the librarian and watch the cutscene. The cutscene and the fairy dialogue will have a conflict that will allow you to access your menu mid cutscene . Once IN the menu, equip your "salable" , like the garnet or an onyx, etc. Then once you access the SELL option , you'll still be able to sell that same item you've equipped earlier! This will then glitch the game into thinking you have 255 or infinite of that same item! With this you can buy your early joseph's cloak, diamond armor, etc. Keep in mind though, the duplicator is only available after you beat the game at least once. That also goes for the ring of varda for example, but that's off topic.
