😘so many time in my room in The Plaza Hotel Kings Cross this album saved me. Stoned off my ears in bed, 2nd story, window open down to the floor in the heat of 2am Smiling at the working gals cussing and laughing down the old stone alleyways. Roll and fire up another and pass it round to whoever was there, if anyone. Another big nite working in the Motorclub downtown, caberet, two sets, 800 seat room. Good band. Hair playing down the alley. Soon be time to crash then get ready for tomorrow shows. Soulflutes always calmed the waters. Thnx for posting it. Everthings nostalgia after a while. Is goood 🙃
After attending a 1993 concert I learned from Herbie Mann that he was the uncredited solo 'flute man' on this album. After many years on Atlantic label he joined A&M-CTI in 1967. His album 'GLORY OF LOVE' came out on that label. Like most of its artists his stint was a two-album deal, but he had rejoined Atlantic again before completing it. This anonymous set with 'Soul Flutes' allowed him to fulfill his obligation. Afterwards he was back on Atlantic for a long time. Mr. Mann was a tremendous musician and a super cool guy. R.I.P.

Soul Flutes : Trust in me An ace groovy sunday afternoon spin with this sweet mellow side of flutes, beautifully aranged by Don Sebesky. CTI with Van Gelder perfectly produce this hideous flutist man LP accompany with great line up musician .Guess who ? Let the mysterious uncaged silver bird freely sing in your low lights sanctuary room . Label : A&M Records Released : US 1968
A couple of 84 year olds thank you for the nostalgic trip! This was one of our "dinner hour discs." The fidelity on this is excellent. How did you do it?
