I love smt and I’m barely seeing this trailer today like HOW OMG IM BEYOND EXCITED FOR THIS GAME. Atlus is so amazing they first make a remake of nocturne, bring out a spin off of persona 5 and then come out with smt v and now soul hackers 2???? I’m so hyped and overjoyed!
are you telling me after an official announce we don't have to wait years but just months for a new SMT game????????? count me in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yesssssss!!!!
@@bubalackgaming8892 I doubt it'll get delayed at all, it seems that this game has been in development since around 2018 and the trailer makes it look preeeetttyy far in development
It is really nice to see we are getting more SMT Spinoffs. Mainline has trouble hooking me but these "side games" always become some of my favourite experiences in gaming.
This is finally the impetus I needed to play the 3DS Soul Hackers, which has been sitting on my 3DS for ages now and feeling very unloved. It's also the motivation I need to seek out a PS5. I am going to preorder the living hell out of the collector's edition for this ASAP.
It's the difficulty curve isn't it? Yeah I've played all the mainline games but that's it....I've only played them meanwhile all the side games I've played I've completed, it's something about the monotony of the grind in the bleak apocalyptic setting of the mainline games that eventually kills it for me.
@@edenromanov For me it is more the setting and writing/characters. I don't like deserts, monochrome grey areas, or post-apocolyptic settings. I also like character-focused stories and have trouble staying engaged with more broad conflicts. Mainline has *fantastic* battles (particularly SMT 4.) But I have trouble motivating myself to keep playing with the dreary setting and have trouble motivating myself to pick the game back up when I don't have anyone I am attached to.
Ill second that. Id like to get in the saturn or ps1 SH with English T. Ill have to check if there is such. Something that i don't like is this isn't a dungeon crawler. Smt 1,2/soul hackers, devil summoners, persona 1,2/ if...all dungeon crawlers. This new one is probably scraps from others recent. Imo soul hackers is hypnotizing, relaxing; not this one. Next they will make devil survivor with hyrule warriors crap. Not happy about smt 5. Anyway, end of chapter.
The exclusivity of this series confuses the hell out of me. From my understanding the mainline series (SMT) is exclusive to Nintendo. The persona series is exclusive to PS. Then Xbox and PC get random releases here and there (really don't understand how Catherine is on Xbox and PC, but neither got full-body). Frankly this embodies why I hate consoles and exclusives (especially when most of their games (which I Love)) release on systems that frustrate me and I hate. Beyond all of that, you really shouldn't need to buy multiple systems to follow one franchise (or emulators because Playstation and Nintendo keep making their oldest games inaccessible). Imagine if they made a movie theater cinematic universe that required you to subscribe to streaming service to watch shows that they refuse to at least release separately to buy after airing, just so you could keep up with characters and plot points (...Shit).
It's possible that atlus has an exclusivity deal with Sony for all mainline persona, though that wouldn't explain p4g on pc. The smt game aren't 100% Nintendo only since nocturne was on PS2 and there was an Xbox exclusive (nine I think). Any other games that aren't related (Catherine) is probably allowed on any platform they want.
@@gex3922 Could be that the deal expired. I mean, don't forget that Steam got P5 Strikers on the same release date as the other international versions. Still makes no sense why they wouldn't release P5/R yet, though.
@@SparkstarScope P5S counts as a spin-off type thing, since it doesn't do the standard turn-based RPG gameplay, and instead uses musuo gameplay. If the deal did expire though, I don't understand why they wouldn't release any mainline games on any other consoles.
i gotta be honest, this game’s art style feels totally separate from the first soul hackers game like, it feels like atlus just looked through their ips, saw “soul hackers” and said “oh, this sounds like a cool name”
Actually in Japan when the first soul hackers first released, it was actually just called “Soul Hackers” and not the SMT Devil Summoners like in the US
The fact that the demons are just skills for the human characters (at least this trailer makes it look like that) really bothers me, on a SMT game the focus on gameplay should be on the demons not on the humans. Yeah I know about DDS, but that was a different series with a different premise, a sequel of Soul Hackers should let you use demons on your party, not only as skills.
@@vullord666 I got it and finished it. man was that a good game. though it is interesting that they are bringing back the phantom society for this game. Considering the first game takes place in a cyberpunk alt 1980s, makes me wonder what phantom has been up to since the the events of Soul hackers concluded.
Other than the same soul hackers demon gun or whatever its called, this looks like it has nothing to do with soul hackers. The only similarity is the gun. I dont mean to sound like I hate this, it looks pretty cool but I definitely like the old soul hackers. But I guess I cant judge until more info comes out
To be fair most SMT games are severely different from their predecessors, for example IV has virtually nothing in common with Nocturne other than some old demon designs
@Vessel of Amala I saw someone in another comment section sum it up pretty well that the first Soul Hackers was based on the 90's/Early 2000's idea of future techno, while this one is based more on 2020's general idea of future techno, and tbh I think that's pretty cool
I love Atlus's JRPG's and this one is coming to my favorite system? Sign me up. Its been a while since I've been able to play a good Atlus game on a system I didn't hate.
Why not switch, the remake came out on 3ds. You would assume they moved on to switch. What's with atlus releasing sequels on different brand consoles. Kudos to xbox getting a smt game.
Definitely getting this on Steam. But since Soul Hackers was originally part of the "Devil Summoner" spinoff series, does that mean Raidou Kuzunoha XIV can still make a cameo appearance? Would love to see/fight him again, lol
No fucking way! I just found out about this game! I don’t care if Granblue Fantasy Relink comes next year if I can get my hands on this in August ! Holy shit it’s gonna be great! I can already tell.
About time they put games on series x. Bet the whole back catalog drops on gamepass. I loved soul hackers despite the old ass design. I'm a sucker for old school smt.
I got the 3ds soul hackers on sale anticipating this release then I just realized it's not coming to switch. Oof I'll still enjoy the first one I guess.
Weird that it’s not cus smt on switch looks better I’m passing on this cus I’m not sitting in front of a tv for a long game my ps4 is mainly for short games not to mention part one is on a Nintendo system. Makes no sense
I lost 50$ with this game. My friend said: "Hey, would be cool if the protagonist on the next SMT universe game was female" and I was like: "Bet 50$ it'll be male". I'm cool with it, just unexpected coming from Atlus.
atlus know when the world end so im gonna tell you dont say bet atlus wont gonna destroy the world btw say bet atlus isn gonna relese smt 6 or persona 6 or any smt spin off next year
how come I cant find this on steam? is it region locked? Nevermind it was just that the description is wrong: "now available on PS4/5, Xbox One/Series X|S, and PC! "
I’ve watched this many times and come to the conclusion that this game will either be mega-shit or mega-good. It all depends on how fluid the gameplay is, whether they actually get the style and design of the dungeons right, and if they do something interesting with the story instead of persona 5 2. I’m praying they don’t fuck this one up because there is a lot of potential in it.
I’m not going to lie, the design of it all doesn’t interest me at first glance. Especially the guy with the gun, very basic look. I hope the gameplay changes mind
Oh god. This game looks nothing like a Devil Summoner game. The only connection I’m seeing to the previous Soul Hackers game is only the gun comp. Also that art style looks like Digimon Cyber Sleuth or god forbid Tokyo Mirage. And another 4 party system? It doesn’t even seem to be a press turn system. Looks like we ain’t going to get another 6 party system for a while then.
6 party systems haven't been used in SMT for decades the 3ds soul Hackers was a remake/port. It's a mixture of Press turn and one more also the reason why it resembles TMS is because it's using a beefed up TMS Engine
They still have similar stories because their still going after the Phantom Society. Remember the first game had a 6 party system because you can only play as 1-2 summoners and the rest being demons, while in this game it's a full party of Summoners. Not to mention the the premise and atmosphere of both games are different because the first game is set in the 90s with the concept of what future tech would be like and this is a more modern timeline with the clear idea of how future tech is handled
La gente armando berrinches más por el arte similar a varios juegos incluidos Digimonstory (que es genial) en vez de estar armando berrinches de porque no vendrá a la switch.
I'm hella disappointed now I think I feels like how persona 1 and 2 fans felt when 345 came out not to say it's bad its just doesn't seem as good as the og games
