This is classic. I remember being a kid and my mom listening to this while she cleaned our house. My twin brother and I'd sit on the stairs and sing this song. Memories. Better Times. Classic music.
This somg and group enlightened my music world. I was about 5yo, growing up in Harlem, NY. It helped me get through.brings tears to my eyes for many reasons. Music is so healing.

@@rnw2739 Because some songs do not age well regardless of quality. Instrument sounds are different to compositions, tempo etc. You don't really make a lot of sense and just seem to be being pedantic.

Please tell me where a regular piano (as used here) akunds different to another regular piano ...tempo is tempo, again that has no bearing on dating a song. I'm generally curious as to how the song can date, unless the lyrics were specifically talking about events from 1989...

I met Julie on a train going to New Orleans from Atlanta when this song was hot. She loved Soul to Soul and every time I hear this song I remember my brief encounter with Julie-my train mate. I started loving Soul II Soul after that. Can't believe how time has flown by always wonder what happened to Julie.
I sent a tweet to Jazzy asking if he had plans to tour again, and Surprising he responded to me 3 times informing that they would tour in the US to promoting the 20 anniversary of Soul ii Soul. It's good to see them back out there.

Can’t believe this song is nearly as old as me - still sounds amazing. Let’s share what different culture has to offer rather than practicing the division we are seeing in the US riots recently. And by god music of black origin has contributed so much.
