I think death animation might actually be complete. He was supposed to be killed by a torrential flow of water, the animation might be representing him melting down, his dissolving body collapsing on itself under its own weight. The geometry sinking the ground was likely intended to be obscured by a combination of low resolution, "blink and you miss it" and water particle effects.

And this video, with others, shows, why it was deleted. The developers simply did not have time to finish the work and therefore removed so much content. Thank you, it's amazing.

The original version of Turel is much much cooler and better than his Defiance version, he looks like a Dog beastman in defiance but here looks like a badass vampire lord half bat half human

No me deja de sorprender e intrigar cómo diablos todo este contenido ha salido a la luz dos décadas después... quiero saber de donde salió todo y por qué justo ahora esto se esta comenzando a ver.... algún día mis suplicas de un remake de este juego se harán realidad. En serio estoy muy sorprendido de todo el contenido que quedó fuera

I would like to see how this boss fight would play out. I'm guessing based on his dialogue in game that was cut, he'd be pushed into water.

Would love someone to finish this game with the cut content and original ending. Never was happy about Soul Reaver 2 and it's other sequels.

Joey X Smith the originally planned ending of soulreaver would have led into a very similar sequel with Raziel going back in time, as stated by Amy Henig.

Me too the story was good but as games they sucked! No bosses and that was my favourite thing about the original Soul Reaver. SR2 had you travelling around to boring Reaver forges

Gracias por compartir toda esta info. Hace años vi todo el material eliminado del juego y la verdad podria haber sido un juego de 2 discos si hubiesen metido todo lo que tenian previsto pero las prisas son malas. Espero que algun dia puedan compilar esta info y adjuntarla al juego original aunque sea apoyando un proyecto financiado

Ditto, it actually made more sense seeing how each boss in SR1 became less and less grotesque, seeing how Turel was pretty much out ranked only by Raziel and Kain, and made sense for him to be the least deformed out of everyone.

I like this version of Turel better than the stupid dog one that is in Defiance. Really hope they remake Soul Reaver with the original vision.

You can see how he is still blind in this version. His eyes are white whereas most of the other devolved brothers have red eyes.

Se van a liberar para descargar estas alfas o al menos una de ellas? Me gustaría que me respondas, les vengo escribiendo y siguiendo durante años, estoy muy contento con todo el material publicado. Pero me parecería totalmente criminal no poder liberarlo al público para poder investigar, más allá de los errores que tienen estos prototipos, estuve en posesión de varias betas también. Te mando un saludo, y espero lo veas

JAJAJA pense que era el unico al que ingnoraban, pero veo que es igual para todos. Seguramente liberen estas betas como tambien lo hicieron con las anteriores pero seguro habra que esperar un poco mas. Saludos!

They need to make a Legacy of Kain Blood Omen 1 and 2, Soul Reaver 1 and 2 and Legacy of Kain Defiance Remastered games and make that and other missing levels we don't know about it for Soul Reaver 1.

If Turel was in Soul Reaver, the game would be 100% complete. For me at least. That maybe mess up the Defiance story line, but i never liked that game anyways.

Was Turel actually going to be standing like that with his arms spread out with a slouched posture? Also, I think it's safe to say that Turel probably would've had glowing red eyes like the rest of the bosses, had he made it in the final game.

I feel like the fight would consist of dodging his charges so he smashes into columns which would explain the slouched stance a bit. Also considering in lore he has strong telekinetic powers he would probably use those as well. So perhaps the fight would consist of dodging or countering his force attacks and provoking him to charge at you so that he smashes the columns supporting the roof. We've already seen that the fight ends with the roof collapsing and water pouring him making him drown/burn in it.
