I am running Kastelai and got one game in 2.0. Very fun and hard hitting. Blood Knights can in fact charge a unit, get stuck in and then move out away from them causing mortal wounds and still be able to charge again. Can't wait to see that in action.

So many changes in 3rd edition. I think they are getting even better.

@@andytan2411 They finally updated the rules in 3rd edition to separate the moving phases. Blood Knights can now charge, fight and move over that unit they charged causing mortal wounds and still be able to charge again into another unit. Absolutely love it.

nice analysis, i just wish to point out that rousing commander is probably better than what you are considering since it does have a scondary use as a failsafe in case you get double turned and catched out of position. This can make you BKs hit just twice as hard than normal and can quite catch the opponent out of guard, expecially considering how tanky BKs are. For the rest i agree, the brick is amazing on a vengorian lord to protec vhordrai and the banner is very good on the coven throne that is likely to be focus fired in 3.0 for its strong ass CA

There is probably some truth to that, we went back and forth on many of the ratings on this one.

i know this video is a few months old but i am very confused. in the slide it is implied that stolen vitality lowers the to wound as in your slide it says "otherways to get +1 to wound, this may be redudant" but ive had multiple people say it just raises the wounds by 1 so if used on blood knights the wounds go from base 3 to 4but it does nothing for the To wound. is this an error on your part when the book first came out?

Can Blood Knights move after they enter the board from reserve via The Shifting Keep? The rules state that they may enter "at the end of any of your movement phases." I am thinking that the 'end of your movement phase' is different from 'after your movement phase,' so normal movements would still be permitted. The only clarification on the matter I can find is that the action of reserve units entering the battlefield is not counted as their movement; The Shifting Keep does not state that qualifying Kastelai units can't move at this time, only that they enter at the end of the phase.

It is the same wording as Legion of Nights ability. While I am not seeing a rule that specificity stops it. Traditionally when a unit is set up at the end of movement it cannot move. Because the movement phase is complete. That rule is how the game has always been. and units that are set up at the end of movement, example from summoning or deep striking do not get to move unless it states on their warscroll they can. I think the big takeaway is that its at the end of movement, and movement is considered over at that point. Let me know if you any rules that contradict that, I would like to know.

Just wondering what u guys think of 5 bloodknights or go with 10? Here is my list: Prince Vhordrai Vampire lord on zombie dragon 10x dire wolves 5x bloodknights Exactly 2000pts. Should I run all in 5 man units or double some up to 10? What do u guys think?

You confused me for a second when you typed your list: 5x Blood Knights to me means 1 unit of 5. However I think you mean 5 x 5 Blood Knights, Or "5x blood Knights" 5 times. I personally like 10/10/5, in this edition it give lots more staying power and when you hit something with 10 that units goes away. However I know that ChrisC, likes unit so 5 for versatility and from his play testing they still hold up with only 5. So in the end it is a matter of personal preference, and play style, I say try 10/10/5 and if you feel you do not have enough board control start breaking them down into smaller units. However in AOS3.0 block of 5 may be the best way to play them because of coherency. In the end do what is best for your style I think both ways has merits.
