this is the era where outkast, souls and even pharcyde were appearing on soundtracks for movies and absolutely slaying the mic lololol. ahhhh its great to know what innovative(not real...thats corny)and thoughtful hip hop is all about
These cats NEVER got their due recognition and respect because they were way ahead of the game with their beats, wordplay and flow. Salute to These West Coast Gs who changed the orbit of Hip Hop.
I forgot there was a video for this (I do remember the video for Casual's "Later On" tho). Nice cameo by Pep Love! This soundtrack had some killer MC's on it- Souls, Casual, Extra Prolific, Organized Konfusion, O.C., Def Squad and more!
Low Down Dirty Shame soundtrack! This was probably the best song on the whole soundtrack, but It also had some bangers by Casual, Extra Prolific, UGK, Fu-Schnickens & Def Squad.
Man they wuz like a West Coast Tribe Called Quest. I'm from Philly an we grew up wit 99 till Infinity but I didn't no Deez bullz dis thirl😵. I knew they wuz Flame tho FuShoW👍
This isn't a bad beat, but the trumpet kills it for me. I hate the vocal mixing, it should be more static, but the echo effect doesn't match the beat, as well as the vocals having too much high-end (in my personal opinion). Tajai killed this track nicely, Opio could've done better, A-Plus was solid, Phesto could have delivered it with more energy (which made him stand out in the debut). The hook isn't memorable or really stand out to me. I also feel like they were trying to recreate "'93 til Infinity" but it doesn't have the same charm, and they shouldn't have focused on recreating that song. I'd give this song a 5/10, because I believed they could've done better and that they had done better prior to this single's release.
