Probably most people's favorite because it was pretty much the only one to get any sort of semi mainstream play. Lol i remember waiting for it to come up on that channel "The Box" because we didn't have cable
@@seshansmithit’s one of my favorite hip hop songs. It’s something about the beat and the melody that’s so soothing. The original piece that they sampled from is just as soothing.
These Dudes are Legends right here. HipHop was so different back in the Day. I swear they were from the East Coast when I first heard them. Lyrical Monsters FR
my second earliest memory was teens playing them on a boom box hella loud on BART going to oakland coliseum with my dad. the whole train car felt the vibe.
YEAH that beat came from Miles Davis ex wife Betty Davis. The musicians on that track were Bay Area musicians. I know members of Journey, Greg Errico the drummer from Sly and the family stone, and the Pointer Sisters did background vocals for Betty Davis. She had some dope funky raunchy music!!!!
93 til is in my top 10 hip hop records of all time easily, classic album. Love their work with Hiero as well. Criminally underrated, much like the Pharcyde.
Interviews like this that’s so much more prevalent now make me so happy. There’s so much history in music, so many great story’s that just add new ways to look at and enjoy peoples work.
