This Channel makes great Reviews. So many other Channels seem to spend time complaining about what a game isn't rather than what it is but here they just focus on the stuff that matters and I really appreciate that.
I appreciate that the reviewer seems to have a solid appreciation for the genre. Anytime someone references heavenly sword that guy knows what he’s talking about .
There are a few older titles that, if people point to reference, gives me hope. Bloodrayne, Cold Winter, God Hand, and of course Heavenly Sword. You can tell that this dude loves when video games are just fun video games.
Yeah, I have such a preference to stylish fun looking combat like NIER, DMC, BAYONETTA, then souls-bourne games which seem to be more popular than I think they deserve. Combos in darksouls seem so lifeless most of the time. I'm not saying they're terrible just i find they lack the energy and excitement I get from more stylish games.
@@riyuphoenix4533 there for is good we have nowadays such many games to choose from .. i find DMC a boring ... without any challenge ..and despite dark souls simple combat ...i find it just right for the game ... even tho a bit slow for my taste .. in that regard is Bloodborne much much better ... i like fast phased combat but not with too much or too long combos which are more often hard to use in such games ... but i love nioh ...this looks like something in between DMC and Souls ..so cheers guys and have fun :)
@@marekbabik2791 Nioh is fantastic, I agree with you on that one. You say DMC has no challenge, but you can adjust the difficulty. Why I do think the combos in DMC can become a little overwhelming, i still think its fun. I've platinum trophy darksouls 1 and 3 and bloodborne. Bloodborne was a little better, I think the dark gritty areas in that game became uninteresting, everythink had that vanhelsing look. I do think Nioh is so underrated compared to dark souls, I think people can't get over its harder learning curve, which is a shame because people are really missing out.
@@riyuphoenix4533 agree with u on Nioh learning curve is really much harder then dark souls or soulslike in general ..which Nioh also is ... but that combat is different as it can be ... much more complex... and once u get it ....from that moment forward it is really fantastic ... I gues yeah ... I miss some combo's in soul series... even tho bloodborne have the most unique weapon system I've ever seen in action rpg ... just 14 weapons but they are very unique... certainly looking forward to Lies of P and WoLong the fallen dynasty ... but I may give a chance to games like soulstice, dmc, final fantasy etc.

Everyone thinks how long a game takes to play equates to how good it is. Long games are fine every now and then but after so many hours of any game I’m typically ready to move on to something new. For single player games I personally like ones that I can beat in a week or two and let multiplayer games be the ones I put a ton of hours into.
That camera view reminds me a lot DMC 4, which was my first contact to DMC as a whole. You can find this fixed camera moments a lot in Ninja Gaiden (sigma) 1 as well. At first I was annoyed by it, but then I got used to. In steam page, there are lots of people complaining about the camera (and only the camera). I don't know if that is such a big deal. Will try the game, for sure.
The camera is actually great once you come to appreciate it. It really sets the scene for some amazing background settings. And correct, it’s very much reminiscent of dmc4. Where it’s fixed during most traversal, and then open for movement during combat. I’m about 3 hours in and already love the setting the camera makes
I don't know about others but my issue with the fixed camera was the sudden change in view angles during platforming. This sometimes made me go off balance and irritated me in the beginning but I got used to it later on.
Thank you for not speaking about the camera control and how hard/bad it isfor half of the video like IGN did and have it a 5 in the end xD I am dissapointed that I watched their review first before you`rs ...
I only finished the first chapter and haven't played much hack n slash with fixed camera but I already found that locking on enemies was more of a detriment than helpful. I'm having a lot of fun with this title and makes me think I need to give DMC5 a chance 🤔
Very accurate review. Totally different from IGN. The only problem I faced was intense frame rate drops on ps5 during most overcrowded battles but the combat is so amazing that I can forget about the flaws. Please, patch this game on ps5! This game is gold.
It's a great game with some flaws. So far I'm enjoying it although it's not at the DMC level, clearly. The support mechanic with lute is fantastic.. I'm doing a full walkthrough in my channel for anyone interested with daily videos, and will see it through the end.
This is the best Platinum style game this year. Way better than anything Platinum Games made since nier automata. And its not online only, so you don't have to worry about it being stolen back by the company without a refund, unlike Platinum Games games.[Babylons Fall]
Glad to see a reviewer who isn’t basing on the game for just being a sick callback to older hack and slash titles…honestly some of the reviews made me wonder if they even like the genre
Am 4 chapters in on the hardest difficulty available at the start and so far have enjoyed it, my only complaints are the camera angles and how much it zooms in during fights If you like DMC, Bayonetta and OG God of war you then you will like Soulstice so for the price at 35 pounds it's well worth it trust me
He’s gotta be playing on the lowest or second lowest difficulty. There are 3 at the start and you can unlock 5 total as you play. And even on the 3rd level (which I chose to play on) enemies are aggressive
They definitely need to optimize the game better for next gen consoles. The performance mode textures are extremely low and even on performance mode you get frame rate stutters\drops.
Well it is a mid budget AA title lol what do you expect. The frame drops don’t seem to be a problem with most people and not the best textures are to be expected on performance mode. Most likely that shit gonna get patched tho if it’s as bad as you say.
@@luhhtee2547 totally agree. I think comparatively other studios were able to do 4k at 60fps on performance mode like insomniac for example so it definitely means it possible, it's likely just a matter of the engine they using.
Love it when people slate games it makes me want to play more I’ve heard Thymesia and steel rising slated and I finished and loved both I will never listen to any bog standard gamers review
