Was it a set or a playlist? Would be interested to hear it without the interview. Interview is nice though.

The background music is cool - just eq out the vocal range so your voices sit more naturally in the mix.

Yeah. I would've made the instrumental stereo, cut a little bit of the highs and make the vocals sit right in the middle.

I've been into electronic music since I was 8. I always wanted to try my luck and produce something but because of reasons I just couldn't. Recently after so many years I decided to give it a try and I've been listening to these kind of podcasts where to be honest I end up quite overwhelmed, amazed and inspired but overwhelmed nonetheless. I'm still not sure if I should go analog or digital, if my first buy should be a Synth or a MIDI controller. Anyways, I really appreciate you're doing this Joey, specially since you cover this very specific sonic spectrum of dark, distorted, heavy Industrial Techno. Absolutely cathartic. I wish you could interview Ontal, ANFS, Tomohiko Sagae, Crystal Geometry, Tsuzing and Vatican Shadow (amongst others). Please keep doing this and thanks once again.

In my opinion and as begginer experience, if you want to control a daw a midi keyboard is very very good, for example the integration of akai or novation with ableton is a good way to make music. If it's not the case, I would choose a synth, if you want to input notes into your daw or vst, etc. You will have the keys of your synth and with a synth you are not tied to a computer program whenever you just want to play something or make some sounds.

@@afxtwinreverb Thank you very much for your answer. At the moment I'm leaning more towards the Midi keyboard but I guess sooner than later I'll be investing in some synths like the Arturia Microfreak and the Eowave Quadrantid Swarm. Right now it's a matter of space.

I really enjoyed the interview ! Looking forward to see more and excited for the new guest! It would be amazing if you could talk about your approach to recording , and what is your workflow to record a track for a release (in opposition to recording a jam). I'd also be very curious in knowing a bit about how do you prepare/organize a liveset in terms of patterns, songs, sound sources and maybe some more tips! Would love to hear more about these topic with the next guests, or in general in any video :) I have the feeling that this is going to be a great series! respect x

Fuck yeah dude, I hope you get out at least one per week. I crave these kind of videos, I feel like I have watched all of those videos already. With people of my interest on them. talking about gear, techno, modular etc. really exciting! Get Aditya on it and talk about distortion for 5 hours please. And surgeon to talk about live performance :P

I had some Focal CMS 40s which I loved, until I got a paid of Genelec 8030s, - for DJing the Focals are awesome, but for production the Genelecs have way more definition. Sold both. I wont buy decent monitors until I live a good distance from my neighbours because its always an issue. - I do miss them though.

That's true. A lot of music I wouldn't normally listen to can sound significantly better in certain environments and on loud soundsystems. And I know this sounds weird, but also when you're at least tipsy, everything smells different in a more intense way. There are so many smells that gives me associations to at least indoor techno parties. I think it's a combo of cigarette smoke, joint smoke, mens deodorant, sweat, fruity gum and shampoo (I think). I don't have these associations from mainstream nightclubs.
