Your trucks a beast mate! Our trucks have done very similar mileage mines done 1.680,000kms but mine isn't a highway truck it's a tipper now days or dumptruck as you guys in Canada and USA call them so has probably had alot more off road abuse. It's towed a 4 axle dog trailer pretty much all of its life and mostly worked up and down the hills and mountains here in NZ. It started life as a logging truck did 1 million kms and had a full engine rebuild then got sold. Chassis was shortened and turned into a bulk tip truck and trailer carting grain, fertilizer and coal and gravel all over the South island of New Zealand. Now days I'm the fourth owner the tipping bin on truck has had sides cut lower to 1 metre height its purely used as a gravel carting truck now, lower sides easier for loading gravel with small excavators, loaders etc. She's a 1994 western star 4864F with a 12.7 litre series 60 Detroit, 15 speed overdrive RR (never touched still going strong) with 46,000 lbs diffs and the hendrickson walking beam rubber block suspension, its great suspension for spreading gravel being very stable and its pretty low maintenance, Bad side it's really rough riding on rough roads. Hence I named her "The Bronco" I like her though she's got some character it was made in kelowna Canada when they made stars their and for the hard life she's done she's still going strong with surprisingly little to no rattles in cab. I have an attachment to these old western stars as reminds me of my days I spent driving old western star 4900 and 6964F trucks in western Australia back in the 90'S they had mechanical KTA-19 Cummins 600hp pulling triple side tippers in the gold mines, we hauled 190ton all up on those beasts, trucks were all air start too, Were fun to drive. I believe when the western stars were made in kelowna they were built pretty tough, I haven't driven any of the newer ones made today but looking at them they certainly don't appear to be as solid looking as the older ones, I guess that goes for all newer trucks of today though. Love your content mate, keep up the great work and enjoy your Pete while we still can. Sadly one day all we will be allowed to drive is electric trucks. Think I'll retire from trucking when that happens.
