I’m new to this channel. Just subscribed. I’ve been using hearing aids since 1995. This is the first time I ever hear about any verification or testing of hearing aids which have been programmed to you. I have used all types of hearing aids. Some have worked nicely, others have hardly worked at all. Unfortunately my hearing loss which started being moderate to severe, is now severe to profound and only one ear working well. One ear stopped as of May this year. Last hearing aid set cost $3,200 (Unitron T Insera 600) bought in 2018. They’re useless. Am using the Siemens Signia which I bought from India. (Did send my last audiogram)They’re solving my problem so that I can function in this world. Thank you for explaining. Will see more of your videos.

Dr. Cliff I really enjoy your videos, they are very informative. My audiologist is employed in a hospital network and my insurance is connected within that framework. As a result she either does not have the equipment, time or does not think it is necessary to do true real ear measures. So she sees a lot of patients but does not spend a lot of time with them. My insurance provider allows me to get new hearing devices every 2 years. After viewing one of your video on the Audeo Paradise. I would like to replace my Oticons with the Paradise but my Audiologist does nit handle that brand. I really would like to purchase them from you, but you mentioned not being able to do firmware updates over the internet. Die you see that changing in the near future. Finally why can’t an individual perform the update themselves? We do it all the time with our computers and phones.
Why can't you do your own firmware updates? Because the hearing aids have to be paired with the manufacturer's fitting software, which only your hearing device clinic will have. I'm not sure why the manufacturers work that way, but my best guess is the technology to provide the update by pairing with your phone just isn' t there yet.
Just makes me sad because I can't get proper care where I live. Been through three audiologist, kicked out by one for asking for real ear measurement, and just bought the ones from the third audiologist because I couldn't hear and needed them, but no real ear, no verification of any kind. I'm not happy with them.
I just found out my audiologist actually does perform REMs.. and do qualify for best practices i think but not sure why they’re not on your list… not sure why it was never done on me though but I’m probably going to have them do it next time I’m there
@@the11thhour77 They actually do, and they did it.. Sometimes they do it a bit later on so that you can adapt to the devices but I asked them to do it and they did,.. My audiologist DOES do what needs to be done and they are wonderful doctors so please do not say things like that

Sir I am suffering a lot with tinnitus for 3 years. Now it is increasing and i cant tolerate it any more. Please give me some suggestions how i can get a bit relief!
