You are sure about the Wah - thing? Looks like Kirk has one, not sure if it was his signature Wah back in the days of "Ride the Lightning" and "...and Justice for all".
Tosin's rig: Strandberg Boden 8 string cos you can't get the Ibanez TAM models anymore Morgan AC20 Combo Strymon Time Line Strymon Big Sky Friedman Brown Eye Overdrive Javier's rig: ESP JR-608 i'm not sure about amps tho so just get whatever works best
A homing pigeon just crashed into my window. It was carrying a scrap of paper that said "Breaking news! Kirk Hammett has a signature wah pedal." I don't care if it's illegal to read the message or not. I had to.
He doesn't even use them. He uses the rackmount crybaby so he can put multiple pedals all over the stage. Idk about the studio but he doesn't use em live at all.
Dylan Brown same man I decided to make some egg rolls and started watching RU-vid and binged sounds like until my Xbox turned off and my progress got wrecked
I highly recommend them :). I have a EC-256, EC-407, EC-1000, and my E-II. I have 7 ESP guitars and not to sound bias because I'm a japanese american, but the quality and care put into the instruments even down to the cheapest model is quite satisfying.
@@akumakami9727 I have a ESP Spider KH-3 and the neck is one of the fastest things i have ever played. I'm surprised they didn't use a KHDK Ghoul Screamer. One of the most under rated TS style pedals out.
Haha! That's so funny! You know what would have made it even funnier? If you added one more line rephrasing the expression "No one". Man, wouldn't that be humorous in the most explorative fashion... Just imagine!
And the best part of this video? The fact that every time you guys play a riff, I can hear the drums and bass in my head. That's how GOOD this "Sound Like" was.
The intro solo in fade to black still mesmerizes me decades after the fact. It's so, so good and probably my favorite thing Kirk has contributed to the band in terms of his lead playing. So melodic, and oddly enough, long before the days of the Kirk Hammet Signature Wah pedal.
This announcement was brought to you by the department of redundancy department, which exists to bring you the above announcement of Kirk Hammett’s signature wah pedal, which is a signature model for Kirk Hammett
Yeah that would have been nice but if they had used Kirk's signature wah, it would have been better. You do know he has a signature wah right? 20 of those and you're good.
Gareth Lewis it was an ESP KH3 ‘Spidey’ Signature guitar issued back in 1995. Due to it being based on early Melody Maker/Les Paul headstock designs, ESP had to legally stop making them. Not after it had a run for 5 years. The Eclipse models came out more recently.
@@RamSarup it was used from 91 up until 2004 or something like that. There are other ESP guitars with the same body, so it's not only his model either.
Everyone’s talking about how Kirk has a signature wah, no one is gonna mention how they used an illegal guitar, a floyd rose on a les Paul style guitar!
EMG 81/85, Peavey 5150/6505, Dual Rectifier and Maxon OD808. You can also use Krank Revolution or Framus Cobras. But their sound is really modern American high gain amp with Maxon OD808 as a clean boost. On the Maxon you set the drive to 0, level to 3 o’clock and tone somewhere between 10 to 1 o’clock. For Lamb of God you really need a Mesa Mark IV or Mark V. While Mark switched to Royal Atlantic and other stuff, the early records until Sacrament are Mark IV. The 25w Mark V would be the best way to go for the least amount of money.
Nice to hear the intro solo actually played clean like the record. Hammett seems to gain it up in most live shows I've seen on youtube. More aggressive and exciting in an arena setting I suppose - but it looses something special.
@@lukecowley4949 in what way are they the big four? IF your taking album and single sales its metallica maiden priest and motorhead. Metallica may have the right to be up there with maiden priest and Motorhead but anthrax??? dogshit. Megadeth death id say were up there but big four no way.
Yes, and i'm also totally down if they wanna take the easy route and just invite nolly on to play some of the songs on the guitars in the shop I think it would be a ton of fun!
tony iommi by busting the bank gary moore by busting the bank ( including jazz fusion and hard rock area in mid 70s to the end of the 80s ) randy rhoads by busting the bank
James Hetfield blends his Mesa with a Diezel VH4 or Herbert and boost this with a Clone Centaur. His Guitar Tech talked about his rig. THIS is busting two banks. 😂 Great job you two! Loved the vid
The ghouls used to use Gibson RD's and one had an SG and now use Hagstrom Fantomens so maybe a white and black Les Paul will work for amps they use Orange so get orange combos each probably a delay, phase and an overdrive
Sound like John Mayer by being John Mayer with special guest John Mayer. I will post this on every Sound Like video until I see the Captain meets John Mayer video. This is the eleventh post.
but they can't use someone else's signature gear for someone else's rig they made the rule back in the limp bizkit sound like where they didn't use the Jeff Loomis schecter cos it was a Jeff Loomis signature and not Wes Borland signature
That intro was subtle, but very effective, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around why.... Still, I know that this was a highly requested artist on this series, so I am very excited for this! Awesome work!
Richard actually used ESP KH-2s with 2 channel Dual Rectifiers for the early records like Sehnsucht! So obviously he’s a big fan of Kirk. But you can nail that sound with EMG 81 in the bridge and any Rectifier: Mini, Single, Dual, Triple.
@DecimasoN Of course, that's the regrettable reason that currently sounds like shit. I saw them live 3 years ago and a real disappointment, they seemed amateurs talking only about the tone of the guitar, because James voice was perfect and the songs they played them very well, it hurts that crap tone
wow.....that sound of battery was BRUTAL!!!!!!!! I was back in the 80`s almost headbutting my tv!!!! Totally blown away with the playing! Great work guys!!
