Isn't it because Chad did some really horrible stuff and was arrested for it? Don't really know if this is confirmed or something but I read about it a while ago...
@@FairlyUnknown here's a quick rundown: prs custom 24/fender hh strat/maybe les paul (pete said on hottb that he used a les paul) into a sansamp gt2, then into a mesa boogie mark IV (or mark V because 4s are rare now). Preferably going into a mesa straight 4x12.
@@jakeybball No. You are so very wrong. Nickelback are the BTO of the 90s. Bland, formulaic rock with little to no innovation. Nickelback are nothing but a pop rock band.
Figured You Out, Side of A Bullet, Because of You, and Slow Motion. All killer Nickelback songs. I’m sure there’s more.. Let’s hear those next time you do BY Busting. 😬👍
IME, most folks dont understand that rejecting something can be just as herd-minded as accepting it. Its an actual tactic in marketing, social engineering, etc.; Just present something in a way that the negative reaction either benefits the "product," or makes those who are fans more fervent about their support. Its a funny tendency though, in more natural interactions. "Underground" bands are rarely actually underground, "underrated" rarely means someone(s) are rated lowly by most. Most of the time, it all just means "Im here because im different, just like the others."
@games guitars and gore Doesnt actually address what I said, which is amusing given the context.. I can't say Ive ever heard anything from nickelback I enjoyed, but Im not gonna waste time hating on em either. Places to go, people to meet kinda thing I view both lovers and haters to be about the same in these things, behavior-wise. Content is different, context is the same.
@games guitars and gore I don't know why you assumed I'm a Nickelback fan. Look, at the end of the day it's all personal opinion and you can think something is shitty because perception is subjective. I'm just talking about people hating them because everyone was doing it a couple of years ago. Try to understand what you read before commenting, based on your comments you seem pretty immature.
Thanks for actually stepping into the light and admitting some appreciation for Nickelback. I don't think anyone's going to call them "one the greatest bands ever", but there's certainly nothing wrong with them either. Def Leopard was treated this way in the late eighties and early nineties. Same thing, early stuff was better than later, but they didn't deserve the disrespect they were shown. So many people love to hate on Nickelback, but then you go, then who the hell is buying all their records?
I really like the music that nickelback plays and writes, but some of the lyrics are... well... childish? I don't really like the lyrics about banging women or drinking whiskey out the bottle. Well, sometimes i do, but i don't speak for drunk me 😉 But i agree that they should be appreciated as the good musicians and riff writers that they are
@@karnante4924 agreed, but if you do any research whatsoever, you'll find that those themes are common and prevalent in rock music going back to it's beginnings. Lighten up. Most people need to. Nothing is allowed to just be fun anymore and everything is over analyzed by people who expect to be offended by everything. It's just music. You don't have to behave in a manner it describes. Have a good one.
@@waynebush7953 Well, the topic is as relevant now as it was in the early days. Just take a look at Steel Panther. The thing with Steel Panther is, that they are doing it just for fun and are not to be taken seriously. With Nickelback, there are many lyrics that have a very deep meaning and deal with serious issues. And it is at least suprising that some other songs are not that serious. I agree that it should not be taken that serious and being overanalyzed. The wide range of lyrics and style is one of many things why nickelback is so popular. And many people see this as a sellout, that is the main criticism. Have a good one.
PS: I purchased a KT88 Blackstar Studio 10 last time you showed it off. Fantastic little amp. Can't thank you guys enough for showing off some less known gear.
@debaser I remember disliking their music on the radio - then I heard them live (on TV, they were opening for some big sports event) and they were COMPLETELY LIKABLE live. Strange.
Why disliking a video just because of seeing Nickelback on the title? They did the video just for the fun of it and if they like it then don't dislike their comments.
Fist concert was Nickelback in 2005 - they played Side of a Bullet to pay tribute to Dimebag who had passed and had a guest guitarist that ripped a big Dimebag inspired solo. I got a guitar that year for Christmas and never stopped playing!
my only issue with nickleback is that they didn't stay hard rock. I'm glad they found success going in a different direction, but i just don't care for the lighter stuff Edit: TOTALLY nailed Burn It To The Ground. I have that riff etched into my brain from watching WWE in the early 2010's
Daron Malakian from System of a Down has already been done and so has Pearl Jam's Mike McCready and Stone Gossard and John Frusciante era RHCP as well as a video for Flea and Chad Smith
I am from Brazil but I live in USA. I kill two birds watching your videos; I study english and get musically inspired. I didn’t know about those songs and damn, Rabea’s gear is very very good, modern, sick! I just bought 4 days ago a Blackstar HT5 R MKii and an Epiphone Classic 2020, it’s about to be delivered, But It could easily be that PRS too. Great review, inspirational and as I cited above, you guys are helping/sharing more than you think! Keep doing it!! Oss!! 👏👏

Love Nickelback. They made some of the best rock albums of the 00's. Silver Side Up and The Long Road are both brilliant. After that they did kind of slip a bit into some weird stuff/too many ballads.
Nuno is a hero to Bea, it's understandable why he might not want to do one. It's quite a thing to imitate someone who means that much to you as a player especially in the public gaze. Not that Bea couldn't do it justice.
If you do a BY busting, I'd suggest a Gibson LP Custom of some sort, in silverburst, Ebony, or a dark studio/classic/standard. And for Ryan, a Gibson Flying V or Explorer. Then use a dual rec and a triple rec (or 2 dual recs). Pedal wise, Chad mainly uses Boss, with a Dunlop Crybaby 585q wah (I believe thats the wah anyway). Ryan uses some funny stuff though, so have fun with that.
I'm pretty sure that if Nickelback went back to the beginning and re-released all albums in order but removed the ballads, the rest of the harder, riffy songs would catch on so much more. The hell with Photograph, gimme Side Of A Bullet!
All the stuff from Curb to Dark Horse is awesome. Anything after that is the stuff even us fans hate (apart from Feed The Machine, that album is awesome)
Yeah, I can go with that. Those first albums ripped. After Dark Horse they lost me. I haven't listened to them since. This video actually got me wanting to listen to some Nickleback. They did have some good tunes at one time.
Out of all the music and bands they do.....this is the one that's gets you excited? Lol. Idc that you like nickleback but theres gotta be at least a few other guitar players or bands you like that they've done.
I am Canadian so I may be a little biased but Nickelback kick ass...people should see them live because they are a lot heavier than their recorded work is. They even cover Metallica sometimes. Besides their good songwriting, they are a very good live band.
@@Metallex I've got to admit Alter Bridge are kinda cut from that same size 00s generic American rock thing... But they are excellent... Vocals, Drums, bass and guitar are all pretty much flawless IMO! Which does go to show that genre definitely has legs of you make it hard hitting enough and don't totally sell out lol
