Hi Pete. Nice overview. I have this amp sim and whilst I agree it is excellent, I wasn’t overly taken with the presets. To be fair, I’m aware that Nembrini are slightly more focused on higher gain sounds. I was surprised that, given this one is based on a Fender head, there were fewer classic sparkly clean Fender amp sounds in the presets. It’s always a good idea to find your own custom tones anyway. I’d also like to have seen a reverb built into the amp, but that’s a minor niggle given there are so many reverb plugins available.
Yeah; all very good points. I did get a little excited with the overdriven tones and probably should have provided more info about the cleaner tones. It’s definitely a personal choice thing.
Pete nice one, I first saw this PU at the sound test room and next... I came to your Chanel. Really cool sounds! I love what I can do on my my MacBook Pro and Logic but that being said, I'm becoming an iOS guy....iPad Pro might be around the corner for me Great RU-vid, I love what you do
Hi Pete .... Another great video/tutorial from a fast-becoming legend of Garageband iOS! :) Sorry I was not around this weekend, but had a bit of work on + trying to sort my new track out! Catch you next weekend :)
Not so sure the GB amps and effects wouldn't accomplish the same things. Whenever I listen to people demo guitar apps as soon as they get into the distorted sounds, I think all these apps are generally the same. It's the clean sounds that are for me what differentiates all the many apps from one another. I'm a big surf guitar fan for instance. Thanks for the heads up Pete. I think I have enough guitar apps at this point having just bought Bias FX2.
Yes. It’s a good point and one that I might make clear in the next video. You definitely don’t need to (and rally shouldn’t) but a whole bunch of amp sims that do basically the same thing. It’s why I haven’t spent time reviewing BIAS, Anplitube and Tonebridge. They are all cool, but I use Stark or just the GarageBand sims. And now that I’ve discovered Nembrini, I find this works best for me.
Great content as always mate , keep up your great insights for us That said I find it hard to go past Bias Amp and Bias FX plug ins Serious stuff !! for tinkering with
Hey Pete, I downloaded the bst100 amp yesterday and it doesn’t come up in the Auv3 area, only in IAA. Im probably just missing something simple but can’t figure it out. I’ve emailed Nembrini, but just wanted to see if u had any suggestions? I realize u are busy and may not get around to this. No worries whatsoever, just asking in case u have a quick easy answer. Cheers!
Pete Johns Funny! The second I got the reply from u, I was in GB and tried again, and now the app is there. I have no explanation. I know it wasn’t there before...really weird...lol
