Hello darkness, my old friend …
It surprises us to say this, but this song means so much more to us now that we have spent so many hours singing, practising and then ultimately recording it.
It was one of those songs that we felt we knew inside out for years, but every time we would play it in preparation of this Duo Session the words and meaning would deepen a little. By the end, we almost understood its true meaning 😉
A masterpiece written by Paul Simon, and one of the reasons he is one of our favourite writers.
Oh, and it’s also Mona’s debut on bass!

No one will ever be as great as Simon and Garfunkel was on this song the sound of Silence, but the Mona Lisa Twins did one fantastic job as being so close to the original artists IMO. Kudos to the girls for an outstanding rendition of a Classic song made famous by S&G

In a very sad time of my youth, this tune was all over the airwaves. For the longest time I avoided listening to this tune. After my heart healed and my Soul filled once more with Life...I decided to give this song a chance so I could "apologize" to Simon and Garfunkel. Now when i hear this tune, I Close My Eyes and Go Back and have a Look Around and Smile with a Few Tears! Thank You MonaLisa for reminding me how Life can indeed be a choppy Ocean, but IF I get a bit tired, I just roll over on my back and float till I can Swim once more! Cheers From Ohio

Simon and Garfunkel music was designed for 2 voices in harmony - that's who they were, and who you are as well, a perfect fit. But your voices fit each other even better, like silk gloves. Even moreso than the original. And still carry the power of Paul's vision. This is music I lived in high school. so long ago You honor it, like always. Thanks for making it come alive again.

I’m 73.This song was on the car radio when my dad was driving. Just him and me. His music was big band and show tunes. When this song was over he was very impressed, and that impressed me. True poetic art.

Saw Simon and Garfunkel on their reunion tour in 83 I think it was at Dodger Stadium & it was phenomenal. This version raised the hairs on my arms like that time in 83!!!!!

July 16, 2021, 1900 BST(approx.) 100,000 views. This was on the top of my list of songs I hoped the MonaLisa Twins would cover when I joined their club nearly a year ago. They went above and beyond what I would have been satisfied with. I love everything about this video from the hats on their heads to the harmony of their voices to Mona's bass Ukulele all the way down to the Wazinator on the floor.

Austria rises again ! I knew the land of classical music would embrace the brilliance of modern pop and there are no sisters better to usher in the wave and pay homage to the craft than these two here. Not only that their choice of instrumentation and recording hardware is exemplary. I simply cannot gush enough. Their performance and candor with regards to the cover of The Hollies " Bus Stop " gives us a hint at their acting chops. Let's not forget dear ole' Dad for providing the example and motivation behind these lovely gals and unlocking their talents. Bravo ! To all concerned.

I agree with you that this was a great job. But better than the original? Honestly, I love 'em both but wouldn't totally compare. They're done in different styles, with the Twins putting their beautiful touches on it which really makes it a great cover.

What a beautiful cover of this lovely song by Simon and Garfunkel A group called Disturbed did this a few years ago and I thought it was great but this takes it to the next level. Mona and Lisa thank you so much The vocals are spot on and Mona does a great job on the bass guitar and Lisa does an awesome job on the guitar. Wow love it love it thank you so much

With the exception of the original recording by S&G (and I bought the vinyl LP when it was released), that is the most sensitive, the most expressive, the most beautiful rendition I have ever heard. Sehr gut, MLT, sehr gut!
