Noisy doors? What can I put behind speakers in doors for sound quality? Car Builders demonstrates a few simple tricks to improving speaker quality in doors? Do you use deadener or foam? What about the vapour barrier?
Perfect, concise, and to the point. Great video. I had a laugh at a guy in the last video I watched cutting out templates. LOL. Zzzzz waste of time. Thanks for this.
I usually find more is better..if I have a door apart I may as well spend a bit extra and cover all the inner surface with deadener and foam..otherwise later I will think maybe I could have done that a bit better and do it all over again.......some people make little plates held on with self tappers of rivnuts over access holes....the holes are recessed slightly so you can get some material there and still fit the door card....
I have a i30n if I used this butyl inside and outside of the door how much weight will it add? Will it affect handling? I think one of your boxes weight about 5kgs do I need 2 boxes for 4 doors?
Music, accent, "ford transit" is all "London", so even the music in the background is "London" :) It's like watching the movie "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels"
Hi JS . It depends what set up you have. The car audio scene will do it as they have powerful speakers in the doors and deadening on both sides will stop any vibration and impact on sound system quality. For a standard car set up, you will find the outer door skins, where there are large, single sheet metal panels, will be the primary area you will treat.
The foam in this example is effective to soften the vibration being kicked out the back of the speaker. If you wanted to treat road noise, a mass loaded vinyl would be more effective 👍
Hi Gary. We are going to break down our deadener packs and sell by the sheet so we can cater for doors. Depending on the vehicle, most doors with take roughly two of our sheets (300mm x 500mm) Therefore if you had a two-door vehicle you would only need 4 sheets. This will be $10 p/s (plus delivery). We will also have smaller pads of Acoustic Liner available soon to use behind the speaker.
Hi Scott. We will be there soon 👍 Currently we are shipping our lighter items to the US from Australia but we are looking to set up with retailers in the US to better cater to our US customers.
