The people that speak the jbl charge 3 is better than soundbox they listen the video with the speaker of smartphone... THE DOSS IS BETTER, has more bass
Based on other reviews, Oluv mainly, I got the Doss Soundbox XL today and it sounds amazing! I can't stop smiling! 😊 First, the 'bad' news, it's made of plastic but doesn't look plastic... matte finish. The volume control doesn't sync, it is not rugged or waterproof, more of a home portable and it doesn't take calls but it does go silent when you get a call or when you have any other audio coming from your phone, like RU-vid or any other site and of course, don't drop it on the ground! The rest is ALL beyond good! The grille is metal and the button console is brushed steel with black round glossy buttons that click easy. Even better than I expected! No hum or rattle! This speaker handles ALL recordings really well! I dunno how! My stereo, which is really excellent, can't do that! Even the highs are good. The bass is great!! And wired to my old iPod Classic, it really sounds deadly! And MUCH louder too! Maybe 50% volume roughly, on the speaker, is enough. On my phone, I keep the volume loud and control it on the speaker. I can use phone volume buttons too. I have my entire cd collection on that iPod (mp3) so it's great, plus I'm yet to buy and try a micro SD card. That may be softer than the iPod as then there would be no preamp so to speak but the speaker is more than loud enough, so... JUST BUY IT!
Doss is a much better speaker......not boombox.I have both and there is no comparison between them.If you dont care about the size and weight DOSS is one of the best speakers.Almost a hi fi speaker,Battery life 7-8 hours to 12 out of 15 level.The bass is real and not boosted. On the other hand JBL is much easier to live with.800grams-battery life 12-15 hours-more rugged.
I have doss soudbox it is good sound quality but build quality is very poor this can damage the speaker overtime if you use it often loosen wires, air leaks, etc.
the doss wins really hard. why? because it has a separate woofer for bass. The JBL has good sound don't get me wrong. it's not a bad speaker. But the Soundbox wins because it has mids and treble separated from it's bass. it sounds much more powerful overall. I owned JBL, but some chinese jewels like this one or the Dostyle SD806 are really good. it's whatever you want of course. But honestly. The dossbox is something i'd buy as a single unit in the future above the charge 3.
doss soundbox is poorly made air leaks everywhere and wires loosen overtime due to deep bass it rattles inside it is not a long lasting speaker if you use it hard.
Even JBL sounds a bit clearer but this clearness is cheap. I feel that its a small speaker. Just listen to the voice - doss performs like a normal sound system, jbl is like a toy. DOSS is better not only because of the bass.
Remember guys that this is an edited video,.this is not Live video that both speakers are shown,.we dont even see what player are used,..i dont trust test like this,..listen to ClavinetJunkie's review and you can find a more realistic and live speakers both in the same volume,same player and same place
This is a 50wt speaker against a 20wt speaker. And the Doss has separate sub amps, in calling bullshit on whatever setting you put on the much bigger and deeper Doss. Remember the JBL has no adjustable variance other than the volume.. I'm a JBL guy, UNTIL YOU TURNED THE DOSS UP AT THE END!!! WOW. obviously the JBL is a better low-volume performer..But the Doss has 30 more watts so of course you got to turn it up to here it's magic. Duhh
Mahabubul Islam Too many previous professional reviews mentioned treble issues. Most people aren't aware that JBL has made changes for the better. JBL probably doesn't even acknowledge the treble upgrade if you asked them. JBL would be better off getting it right in the the first place.
Madtuber 58 No man that's bull shit. You're only saying that because you have the flip 4 and don't have the charge 3. The charge 3 is far ahead of the flip 4.
flip 4 and JBL extreme the best product from JBL. i have bose sound link 2 flip 4 much better sound and more weight less , what i dont like bose sound link 2 very heavy such pocket bluetooth
Did you update the latest firmware on charge3 to connect+? They ruin the speaker!!! It sound much worst with connect button press ON. You can hear the difference, the sound is distorted!!! I can't use my two charge3 togheter... is horrible!! On my android mobile i can't play them in STEREO anymore!!! The JBL technical support is not going to help, after a month of giving me advices like restart the speakers... they not going to admit that they fu#k up the firmware.
If the Doss just had a single center mounted tweeter, or 2 basic tweeters left and right it would be killing everything in its weight class and actually way above.... Come on DOSS!?!?!?
Igor Cerqueira Yes, yes it would be. However, I would recommend the “Soundcore Trance Go” or the “Soundcore Rave Neo” if you want an even better speaker than JBL Xtreme 2 for a much lower price
Low-frequency mode is really just turning off the woofer protection therefore making the speakers susceptible to damage due to distorting. And that destroys the speaker over time. The soundbox has a dedicated subwoofer so the dsp on the soundbox xl on bass barley has to be limited because the other speakers don't have to play all frequency's at one time therefore almost eliminating distortion caused of bass. And you are looking at a frequency response of about 65hz vs 40hz. But these are advertised as two different types of speakers the jbl is a all rugged on the go speaker and the soundbox is more for home use but some of it comes down to preference if you are more into mids and highs more portability and less bass go for charge 4. But if you don't really plan in taking your Bluetooth speaker many places and love bass get the soundbox xl. Simple as that.
Hello! DId you upgrade the FW on the Charge 3? It sounds better than I expected to hear. If you look at the sound comparison on this site (switcher.oluvsgadgets.net/) you will listen a completely different sound. It looks like with latest FW (assuming you upgraded it) JBL increased highs which were lacking even compared to Charge 2 and 2+. Thanks for this comparison. Happy 2018!!!
even though the soundbox sounds ever so slightly better it still cannot justify its huge disadvantage in portability. Like I said in my original comment the Jbl is better due to portability but it costs more. The difference in sound is not enough the justify the loss of portability in the soundbox
