Nice review ! Your definitely correct, this Doss Xl is one of the best I've heard specially for the price. Had tried a lot before this and now had stop looking around for an upgrade after buying this. You have to spend a lot lot more to top the XL.

So glad you did a video on this. I have one and love it. It has great bass and vibrates like mad. The mods and highs are still clear and bright enough to be plenty enjoyable and even beats most others I’ve heard. I modified my grill to allow more treble and bass through by drilling holes. The grill is very restrictive. I also made mine super airtight and I get good sub bass.

Put the DOSS XL in a corner of the room, about 40-60cm from the wall, and this 70$ knee deep bass will blow your mind. Guaranteed.

The turn on sound is the Startup sound from OS/2 the IBM operating system .

The startup sound was also the windows 8 log-on sound. The sounds are from windows.

You can find the speaker's start up sound on your computer. It's in C:\Windows\Media\ and I think it's called Windows login.wav . It originally came in Windows 8, and it should still be in 10. I normally switch the sounds so that it becomes the default notification sound

Try that silicone sealing. But try to find the spot where it leaks first. Maybe make a video?

Good video, Jack. I currently own a JBL Charge 3 and Xtreme mk1. I may consider this Doss Soundbox XL. It seems to perform very well for its price. Keep it up. Regarding the air leak issue, is there some sort of a rubber gasket which lines the edge of the drivers where they fit into the enclosure?

Can't complain about an air leak when you threw it off the bench! Lol I love mine. You should try putting a cloth over your bench. Looks like hell!

Hey, I have had 2 of these speakers. One I bought, and DOSS sent me another one for free because the other one, the battery on the inside came unplugged. The one I have now just started turning itself off for no reason.

I still like my harman kardon onyx studio 4. It has a more punchy and powerful bass

Get a pièce of foam or cloth (1/2 thick or so), cut to the unit's bottom's rectangular shape, and that should be enough to stop it from moving (while at the same time absorbing the vibration).
