Hi there, I have a question for you. Do you have an ableton + ui24r tutorial? or do you think to bring some to your channel? and thanks for all this information, I have 1 month with my ui, but it´s kind of difficult to set it well.

Great content on this channel, thanks for sharing. I have a question, How would you convert an aux output from the physical mono balanced aux output to a stereo input on a headphone splitter ( namely Behringer Powerplay Pro HD4600 ) The aux input on the 4600 is a stereo TRS jack. I was planning to send a stereo mix of the band to both of my HD4600s and use the auxes as a 'more me' send. There are 7 in the band so unable to send a separate stereo mix to each member... Thanks
@QuickEZ
@QuickEZ Месяц назад
Hi mincento, thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately, you can’t make a single aux output into a stereo output. It just doesn’t work that way. All you can do is have the mono signal show up in both sides of a stereo destination. But your power play should have a mono button that would do the same thing from a single input. Or if you’re using these for in-ears, some IEM systems have the same ability in the pack, switching it to mono dumps the single input to both ears. On the flip side… You can turn the headphones jacks into additional aux outputs in the patching page. You can assign virtual aux 9 and 10 (which both have a left and right side to them) to the two headphone outputs which are also TRS so that’s two stereo outs right there. I realize that doesn’t quite solve your issue since you’d still be short on outputs, but you could potentially get 6 stereo mixes that way. If that just doesn’t cut it. I would suggest having some of your band mates share a stereo mix. Find out who can live with the same set of instruments in their mix and then try to hit the right number of stereo sends that way. It won’t be perfect, but when you have to work inside the limitations of your hardware, your band needs to work with you. I hope I’ve understood your question correctly. Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

Hello ! Do you know if the UI24R is class-compliant with IPAD IOS : id like to play 5 tracks on Cubasis and have the routed on the UI24R tracks.
@QuickEZ
@QuickEZ 2 месяца назад
Hi Jacques, I have not used the UI24 with Cubais on an iPad. However, I have tested it with Garage band and it DOES work correctly as a multi-channel in/out audio interface with that app. So I have to assume that it will work the same way with whatever app you decide to use as long as the app creator has activated multi-tracking. EDIT: I just went back into my iPad with GarageBand to test this out, and it t appears as though the iPad audio engine will only send back a stereo output to the Soundcraft. So if you want independent track control inside the mixer, that isn’t going to happen. I’ll have to do some more investigating to see if there’s a way around this. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

Thanks! I was just looking for this. Thoughts on the Ui24? Just got one for live situations (music and theather), for processing with Ableton Live. How's the stability and latency in general? And the interface design? Cheers! Thanks again!
@QuickEZ
@QuickEZ 4 месяца назад
Hi Vince, Personally, I think the UI24 is a great piece of prosumer gear. Good number of inputs for live. Good number of outputs for live. Works really well for DAW integration (once you understand their silly channel priorities). The interface is straight-forward and it's browser based so no weird proprietary app issues. And you can slap a dedicated monitor, keyboard and mouse on it cuz it's got it's own HDMI output and USB control slots...BIG WIN!. You can assign pretty much anything anywhere. That, matched with view groups makes it pretty easy to layout for any use-case. If you want to get even more creative, pair it with Mixing Station and you're laughing. Stability; I know that some folks have reported over-heating, especially in a rackmount situation. I have not had this issue...my main unit is in a rack with poor ventilation and runs 24/7 without issue. There is an easy USB power fan mod all over youtube if you do consider than an issue. People also complain frequently about the internal router failing, but my take on that is you should really never trust the internal wifi capabilities of any of these types of stagebox mixers. You'll have the exact same connectivity issues with anything in this price point or below.. Latency is in line with every other mixer in the same price point give or take a ms. These are not "professional" machines and should never be viewed as such in terms of latency. If you want incredible latency or delay compensation, you're going to have to up your price point considerably. And even then, it will never be zero! All in all, I think it's an excellent bang for the buck. Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

Hello good morning What I want to achieve from Logic pro x is, use live the mix and effects that I can do from the DAW, take advantage of the EQ, the compression, the reverb, etc, but from the DAW live through the UI24r. Thank you very much.
@QuickEZ
@QuickEZ 4 месяца назад
You can technically do this, but you will experience a large amount of latency. You will have latency when you send the unprocessed signal into Logic, then the processing (using the eq, comp, reverb, etc) will add more latency to the original signal, and then more latency will be added when it comes back from Logic to your mixer. You may find this is far too much to use effectively. That being said, if you want to try it: - Plug a mic into channel 1 on the mixer, - set Logic to receive the signal on channel 11 - And send the signal back out on output 1. -Then bring the signal back to another channel strip on the UI24. Let’s use channel strip 2. -Set that channel strip 2, to look for signal on USB-DAW 1. Now you should have a chain that works. - In Logic make all some adjustments to your signal with eq, reverb, or whatever you want to try, and see if the latency is too much for you. Let me know what your results are. I’m curious to know. Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

Does the signal from usb come pre fader and pre processing, like when you multi track record to a usb drive directly on the mixer. Or does the signal come post fader and after EQ, compression, etc

No worries. Just to add, even if you are multi-tracking straight to USB-Stick plugged into the mixer, anything you record to that stick will have the same signal tap point. It's post-gain, pre-everything else. Thanks for watching and happy mixing!

Hi! If 31 and 32 are the 21 and 22, that’re virtual Chanels, if I route anything to it, the daw’ll receive pre fader too? So, if I mute this Chanel to don’t go to master, the daw still receiving it?
@QuickEZ
@QuickEZ 4 месяца назад
Hi Andre, Sorry for the slow response. Correct, 31/32 are 21/22 goin from Mixer to DAW. However, they are not virtual. The RCA inputs on the front of the mixer are channels 21 / 22. mixer input 1 > daw 11 mixer input 2 > daw 12 mixer input 3 > daw 13 mixer input 4 > daw 14 mixer input 5 > daw 15 mixer input 6 > daw 16 mixer input 7 > daw 17 mixer input 8 > daw 18 mixer input 9 > daw 19 mixer input 10 > daw 20 mixer input 11 > daw 21 mixer input 12 > daw 22 mixer input 13 > daw 23 mixer input 14 > daw 24 mixer input 15 > daw 25 mixer input 16 > daw 26 mixer input 17 > daw 27 mixer input 18 > daw 28 mixer input 19 > daw 29 mixer input 20 > daw 30 RCA LEFT mixer input 21 > daw 31 RCA RIGHT mixer input 22 > daw 32 They will behave the same as every other channel going from the mixer to the DAW. Also, the mixer does not just send Pre-Fader, it sends signal Post-Input. This means it takes the signal from immediately after the physical input and gain of the input channel. It bypasses processing like EQ, Gate, Compression. It also bypasses fader control AND Mute control. If you do not want signal on channel 21 / 22 to go to your DAW, do not send any signal on those channels, or, simply do not assign those channels to the input of any DAW channel strips.

i need to use ui24r usb for livestream but currently all 8 aux send are being used as IEM. i heard there's virtual aux 9 and 10? will i able to use that to connect to OBS?
@QuickEZ
@QuickEZ Месяц назад
Hi Syncmaster, If you’re only using the USB interface for your livestream then you have a couple of options. Unfortunately no, you can’t assign your virtual auxes to OBS. Those virtual auxes are not actually available in the USB sends to your computer. There are 32 USB sends and the are laid out as follows. Sends 1-10 are the soundcraft - Left - Right - aux 1 - aux 2 - aux 3 - aux 4 - aux 5 - aux 6 - aux 7 - aux 8 Then you have your actual channels starting on USB send 11 Send 11 is mixer channel 1 So anything you have on your L/R or your 8 auxes can be duplicated in your computer and sent to OBS OR, you can send every instrument channel into the computer simultaneous to doing a live mix, then create a new mix in your computer and send that new mix to OBS without interfering with anything you have happening live. Hope that helps, If you have more questions let me know. Thanks for watching and happy mixing!
@syncmaster_07
@syncmaster_07 Месяц назад
@@QuickEZ wow.. thank you for your quick reply. unfortunately, the latter option is not possible at the moment. actually, i haven't noticed the aux 9 and 10 on the ui interface. how can i make it visible?.. is it also possible to route that aux 9 and 10 to headphone jack 2? and run a TRS cable to another interface then to the computer?
@QuickEZ
@QuickEZ Месяц назад
No problem! The virtual 9/10 don’t show up as faders. You have to assign them to something in the patching screen. And yes you can assign the headphone outs to those and send additional mixes out via the headphone jacks. You can also assign the main L/R to them if you wanted to use those two XLR outs as additional auxes instead of a main house mix. In the patching page if you select the MASTERS tab at the top and the HW outs on the left, you’ll be able to see the aux 9 and 10 selection points.

@@QuickEZ Great! I will check it out this week. Its really hard doing both mix for FOH and doing the mix for Livestream.. not to mention, also people on stage's IEM... but I'm loving this UI24r except the wifi having some connections problem from time to time.
@QuickEZ
@QuickEZ Месяц назад
I totally get it. I was lucky enough to have a monitor engineer whenever I’d run FOH. The internal WiFi on every digital mixer is a nice thing to have but honestly, they aren’t robust enough for live mixing. You really should use an external 5ghz wifi router. If that’s not an option, make sure you’re NOT using the 2.4 ghz wifi in the UI. Use the 5g instead. The 2.4 spectrum is massively clogged with other public access points and consumer equipment. The internal 5g is more reliable.

thank you, i m a beginner. can you please tell us if there is a workaround to record ui24r multiple channels via DAW, with the FX and EQ included? i'd like to record "as is in live now" multiple track with Cubase. i wrote email to official soundcraft harman, they told me that officially i cannot but there are some workaround :-) can somebody help me?
@QuickEZ
@QuickEZ 21 день назад
Hi, It depends what you're trying to do. If all you want is a copy of your full "LIVE" mix, then you just need to record the main L/R into your daw. This will already have any FX you are using, in the mix. Your main L/R shows up on the first two USB sends by default, so you just have to set your DAW to record inputs 1 and 2. If you want independent channel and FX you can do a couple of workarounds. 1. send all your independent channels to your DAW and then send a copy of ONLY your FX to two of your Auxes. for example Aux 7 and Aux 8. Each Aux shows up automatically in your USB sends on channels 3 through 10 and you just need to tell your DAW to record whichever channel you want. This gives you all your instruments and your FX to mix together in your DAW. This is not a perfect method as you may have more than 1 FX mixed together on those auxes if you only have 1 or 2 auxes free. However, if you have additional auxes available, then you could send a single FX on each available Aux so you have control. For example: FX 1 goes to Aux 5 FX 2 goes to Aux 6 FX 3 goes to Aux 7 FX4 goes to Aux 8 2. Send all your independent channels to your DAW and then record a copy of your full L/R mix to your DAW as well. Again, this is not a perfect solution but it would give you your full "Live now" mix AND your independent channels. I hope this helps. thanks for watching and happy mixing!

Haii sir do I really need audio interface like behinger umc22 for live streaming in our church,in live stream the audio of the music instrument and vocal are clipping can I send soft audio with audio interface
@QuickEZ
@QuickEZ Месяц назад
Hi, You can use any audio interface to send streaming audio The soundcraft ui24 included. If your streaming audio is clipping, it means you probably have your sends set too high. You should be able to adjust the sends independently of any live audio. Adding in a UMC22 won’t fix your problems if you don’t know what your problems are. What are you currently using, the UI24, or something else?

@@QuickEZ ui24r,I use behinger mic usb interface and set aux output to -10db in mixer but the keyboard starts clipping in livestream obs and audio gets clipping sound
@QuickEZ
@QuickEZ Месяц назад
Hi Anoop, - 10 is clearly not enough. Decrease that even more until you remove the clipping of the keyboard in the livestream. If this reduces the overall signal too much, then you need to decrease the keyboard in your mix, or put a compressor/limiter on it so that it can't clip the signal. You can also try putting a compressor on your overall mix inside OBS to stop the signal from clipping on the stream. However, I would recommend trying to solve the keyboard issue inside your original mix instead of just trying to stop the clipping inside OBS. You'll have a much cleaner mix if you solve the problem at the source instead of the destination. I hope this helps.
