yeah, M1 is some kind of standard for magnetic pickups. Its midraginess I cure via acoustic simulator, just yesterday I finished final setting of L6 HX FX and sounds good with Schatten pickup ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yXY1Jkjbxl0.html
Well, depend... DeArmond stays in this Furch BAR, sounds decent and visually fits best M1 is very midrangy, it goes to my biggest baritone, where it helps to clarity M80 is too bassy for my ear and goes to normal tuned guitar I will use more Artecs, it is cheap, small and sounds OK ...always is only magnetic pickup and never will sounds great alone, but in combination with another pickup will be good and of course some effects (like acoustic simulator or sonic maximizer) would really help this sound.... more videos will come
I have an Lr Baggs M80 for a few years and here in Brazil it's a very (VERY) expensive piece of equipment, so I bought the agx-208, witch is 15x less expensive here and I was very plesently surprised! I still think the M80 is better, but not 15x better lol. I have compare them with the m80 on passive setting and the difference, hearing the recording, was noticeble but very manegeble if used for live presentations. Just one question though, the agx-208 was, i think, with some kind of color sticker or something in some images? I know the DeArmond have those in the package, but my agx-208 is just the plain black.
agx-208 is cheap decent substitution of more expensive pickups. These baggs I have from bazaar, they are expensive in Czechia too :) But good. This color is only light effect, it is black.
Yes! It's decent enough, not for the price! I'm not saying the m80 os not worth It, but for those who are looking for a cheap and uninvasive way to amplify that vintage guitar, the agx does the job. I use the m80 on a 1975 aws740 Giannini. Now o found a 12 string Giannini from the same decade (not possible to ser the exact year) and the agx Will definitly equip It as soon as It comes back from the luthier.
Hello, i have been watching your video. And you seem to be the aurhority on this thing. I am looking for a pick up that would like Gabor Szabo. Could you help me with this !? Please Please !!
Thanks. Magnetic pickups are magnetic pickups :) You can choose afforable one. Results will be similar. You must always processed them for decent sound. Personally use Artec now (cheap and sound OK)
