That sticky cushion and maybe the mattress could be filthy like with semen, urine, saliva, even blood? Bring a UV or Black light like a crime scene investigation. I'm surprised no YT tourist vlogger ever does sanitary check with a UV or Blacklight. I know Japan is famous for cleanliness but I'd rather be certain than go on trust.
