The Genie Wall 80 is a low profile yet high performance wall system that comes only 80mm off your existing wall, minimising the loss of space in your room whilst offering a high level of acoustic separation. The Genie wall 80 use genie clips and channels, acoustic insulation and Tecsound along with acoustic and fire rated plasterboard.

So, the TecSound - is that mass-loaded vinyl? Do you actually install the rockwool before putting up the first layer of drywall? What’s the total STC rating for this solution? How do you deal with all of the penetrations that need to happen through this sound treatment, like electric boxes for switches or receptacles, windows, air vents, etc…?

Tecsound is similar to Mass loaded Vinyl, it is PVC based. Yes the rockwool goes in the newly formed cavity behind the drywall. So, whats the total added thickness here? Also, could this be done on a brick wall where on the other side is our neighbour and which carries our staircases on our side of the wall… the staircases should be decoupled for best result, isn’t?

The total thickness off the existing wall is 80mm plus skim. Yes this can go directly into brick
