SOUNDRHYME SR7 vs MANGIRD XENNS TOP vs AFUL PERFORMER 8 vs ISN NEO5

The market up to 500usd in terms of hybrids is flooded with good products!
There was a time where you basically had the Blessing 2....Blessing 2 Dusk and that was it.
Then slowly things begun to change, YANYIN Alladin, then YANYIN Cannon, AudioSense AQ4, Hisenior Mega 5 P, Aful Performer 5, AUR Audio Aure, all came to be, and the set was stage for a race to have the best hybrid!
The SoundRhyme SR7 is the latest from this Chinese brand that has done nothing but impressed me with its continued flow of well built and excellent sounding IEMs.
But it's not alone, far from it.
We have the Aful Performer 8, the big brother to the 5 and for the most part a solid upgrade.
There's also the ISN NEO5, slowly becoming in my books the Budget Bass King , not because of the quantity, but rather the quality of it's big, well defined, textured bass , which plain seduces you!
There's also another Bass Beast, the MANGIRD Xenns Top, effectively a Neo5 with slightly more energetic mids and improved technical abilities.
I've spoken about the Performer 8 and Neo5, so my focus is the SR7 and TOP.
Both have excellently executed mids, vocals are true to life , instruments correct tonaly and the musicality aspect is definitely guaranteed.
The SR7 has tuning switches but in my opinion only one position makes sense , 01!
Here we get a perfect balance between low frequency and the rest of the spectrum, with none of the over powering bass we get on the settings that emphasize the under 500uz region.
As for the MANGIRD Top, it's sub bass/bass prowess in songs such as " Don't give up " from Cezaire" or Larry Carlton's Live version of " Sunrise " are enough to show you that having low frequency in spades doesn't mean loosing clarity or detail in the midrange!
I want to conclude by saying there isn't a clear winner , rather 2 more excellent products that join the Performer 8 and Neo5, in this under 500usd price bracket.

Excellent review! Finally the Xenns Top added into your compharisons. I m looking to get these in the future and the list of IEM s you added in this review made a very clear vision of what decision I wanna take. With the price tag of SR7, it's clearly made to compete against the P8. Also, considering the Neo 5 is almost 50% less than the Top, i think it's the best bang for buck option between the four. You can't really lose with an L shape iem

Im not him but i do a Little search too (i have the Xenns Top btw), for bass and gaming (not even close) xenns win (if u are a basshead this Is the goat set), soundstage wise the Xenns are obviously more pin point (the dimension i can't really compare), mids are there but the bass of the Xenns Is huge so a little edge to the mk2 (obv if u are not a basshead), highs are more tamed and probably better on mk2 (Xenns can be a little too much sometime for some people,but u know u can eq that if u don't like that and is more a preference because the Xenns Top are obv a much funny and chill set overall) so that's It.

I like how you say that there isnt a clear winner, that they all shine in their own way for specific tasks in music. That is very awesome to hear, have you did a video about your dac/amps? I know you mention them and say how much you like them but it would be cool to hear you tell us why you like them. I have a THX 887 amp with a S.M.S.L. SU8 v2 for a dac. I feel that this makes my music sound too dead and bright if that makes sense.. thinking about getting another setup...

Well you have a nice budget If you will allow me I will suggest more than one iem so that you can become acquainted with different styles. An excellent Planar to buy is the TinHiFI P1Max...99usd at Linsoul or Hidizs MP145...149 at Hifigo An excellent single DD SiMGOT EA500....79usd at Hifigo or SiMGOT EA1000 Fermat....219 at Linsoul An excellent Hybrid Aful Performer 5...169 at Hifigo Or ISN NEO5....a baby version of the Mangird TOP...289usd Finally an all BA set I recommend Hisenior T4....199 USD Or Leisurely Audio L8S.....349usd I would suggest you get a single DD and Hybrid first.....perhaps EA500 and Neo5 If you get these two you can still get the MP145

I have seen people in Japan advocating SOUNDRHYME SR7 vs AFUL PERFORMER 8. What are the differences between the two and which is better, which I could not understand from the video, but what are the differences between the two?　We use translations, sorry if they are rude. Audiophiles love it!

The SR7 and P8 have a similar style of sound which is " neutral warm" The P8 is a little more polished and clean in the Upper mids and treble, while the SR7 has a little more impact on the bass. However please note the difference is very very small. I personally like them both and the difference are so very small. With regards to timbre and tonality I say P8 wins and since that is important for me I will choose P8

Toe,lve noticed that you never have the Azla sednaearfits or don't fit for you, I have big ears so the xl fit beautifully. On your recommendation I bought the juzear 41t and tried all the tips you had on them, then putting these silicone wonders on it came alive- I can't imagine any sub $1000.00 iem sounding any better/ like you say " trading blows" thanks bro!!!!!!!!😊

Great reviews! been thinking about picking up the Xenns top, although I prefer more brightness in terms of sound opposed to warm sound. Any recommendations for brighter and airy sound signatures in the $100-500 range?

Well there are some sets that come to mind. Aful Performer 8.... tremendous set HIDIZS MS5 can be bright with the right noozle tip combination. EPZ 530.... hidden gem Moondrop Blessing3 and SOFTEARS Studio4 both super detailed

I'm trying to keep up with this but it's so difficult to make a choice when ultimately I will make a one off 2-300 ish purchase. I have held off for ages as I don't have 300 burning a hole in my pocket but find my love of music and sound pulling me into making a purchase of what will be for quite a while my top pair of IEMs. Up until now Aful P5 was my choice but it's been a while and now seeing this review, that has changed. I love most genres including Reggae, Rock, House, Blues, well too many to mention but my point is this. If I like rumble when rumble is due but love clarity in the bass when it's not, when I love the drums to have punch and kick whilst Robert Plant's screaming is crisp and clear, do I get an IEM that has rumble such as the Mangrid, or will that spoil the ability of the IEM to shine when rumble is not required? The Mangrid sounds like what I want but it is a little north of my budget. if I bought the Neo5 would I then watch Aful8 reviews and Magrid reviews and think that I shoud have held out longer or will I stick them in my ears and think 'Yeah Akros, thanks man!' Is the P5 half as good as the P8 (as the price suggests) and is the Neo 5 right smack bang in the middle. So confusing.

After a certain point, twice the price does not mean twice the iem. The p8 is not 2x the p5 in sound. I had the xenns top and like my simgot ea500 more, for 80 usd. All of the ones mentioned in the video are highly regarded. Just depends on your preference

@@Mykeoguns Better to ask Akros that question, as he has tried much more than me. In my personal collection, Sound Rhyme SR8 is the clear winner by a country mile. But something like Moondrop Variations is also very resolving, but more clinical and boring sounding compared to the SR8

I’d say the performer 8 is 25% better than the 5. It’s definitely more detailed, and sound very natural. The p5 has more bass, but not the quality of the 8. I think the p8 is perfect for genres like metal, you can hear everything. If you want more mid bass or something you can use an eq, the drivers are very capable of eq.

XENNS definitely not at its best with classical, but good on hip hop STUDIO great on gaming and classical. P8 is very competent in all styles . Personally however much I like the Top the P8 is the only sensible choice as it ticks more boxes.
