Time Life Commercial circa 1995. My brothers and I had this memorized and used to crack up at some of the ridiculous songs, many we only heard of through the commercial.
I saw this commercial so often in the 90s that the pattern of clips play out a like an actual whole song to me. Great to find this and relive something that has been bouncing around my head for the last 20 years.
This infomercial encapsulates my time growing up in the '90s...It touches my soul with a ghostly haunt whenever I see it...What an era!... '90s BEST!!!
I'm the same way with another commercial, that I'm looking for. It included Mellow Yellow and Spirit in the Sky one after the other, and I still hear the 2nd's chorus if I ever hear the first's =)
I don't seem to be the only one that can sing this verbatim start to finish. I must have seen it that many times as a kid that even now 30+ years later it's still memorized. I've had my older relatives cry laughing hard when I sing it front to back....crazy.
I was born in 1963 & can't image not living through the 70s & hearing this music on the radio & in my record collection. I feel a little sorry for the young people who didn't exist then.
Whaaaaat??? That was one of the best songs that define 70s great songs!! Shame on the people who put together this commercial! Pilot's"OhHo It's Magic",its the ultimate 70s Song for those to remember their childhood during the time the movie"Jaws" was released worldwide. Why it wasnt included behooves me as well!!!
I hate how I still can't listen to ANY of these songs without automatically thinking of the song that came after it in this commercial. I wasn't even born until the 80s but I must have seen this commercial a billion times.
I've been looking for this commercial and/or album for years and my brother found it for me. Every summer, I'd stay up late, watching cartoons on cable as I just got a TV in my room. And I remember how relaxing it was to keep hearing this commercial. What I love the most is that there are others out there that have fond memories as something as simple as a CD spot. It certainly makes you long for a simpler time. I'm glad to see it again.
Dude. I JUST found this. I watched this commecial everyday in 6th grade before our school news. Im 36 years old me and Eric Dion used to sing the songs outloud in class in front of everyone. My wife freaked out that I could still sing the entire commerical verbatim. Thank you for posting this. It meant the world to me to be able to find this and impress my wife. My cats on the other hand couldn't give a S*it..
I use to see it every Saturday night, from 1990 to about 1996, on sports channel chicago, durinf windy city wrestling..I memorized it and couldn't sleep if I didnt see it!
i was watching cartoon network and saw this commercial in 1996 (i was 7 that time), this commercial gave me interest of listening to music for the first time in my life
Hello Steffano, Antonia, Al D, Chandlerjoed79, Caleb and everyone else who commented on this commercial. I produced it, back in the day, and I am so glad that it was so meaningful to you! The songs were very meaningful to me back then too! Thank you for making me feel great!
+MrShampaine Thanks for producing it, its one of my favorite commercials of all time. Like many people here, I had been searching the internet for years for it and couldn't believe it wasn't online. I knew I had it recorded so I scanned hundreds of old VHS tapes until I found it. It's pretty cool to know so many others feel the same about it. Takes me back to a great time in my life!
I remember trapin and this commercial would come on so much that when it came on every one sang all the words even the price, address, and phone number
I didn't have cable growing up until the late 90's, so I would barely see music videos unless I stayed up until midnight to watch the pay per music video channel The Box. While waiting, hours of Time Life commercials would be the fillers. It's because of these commercials I love oldies and sort my songs by decades then genre. Like seriously, watching The Guardians of the Galaxy, I remember THIS Time Life infomercial.
hell yes the box god dam I could never call and request videos so I had to sit and wait through hours of crap just to see a video I liked dam I miss the 90s
Randomly my brain started playing 'ahhh heard my maaaamaa crahhhhhh. I heard her pray the night chicago diiiiied. Then ride ride ride hitchin a ride. I got past shannon and couldnt remember what came next. Unbelievable to make one search and one click and find my answer. Also refresh my mind on the other songs. Yo ho ho its claaassic
LOL. I used to wonder why in the world would they air a commercial like this on the Cartoon Network? But, they did. I never bought the CD, however, I did search for this video on RU-vid. So their marketing efforts were sorta effective with me.
I searched for this commercial...damn this used to come on in the 90s when I was a kid....over and over and I loved it....I know the order of the songs by heart
My brother and I used to randomly sing the hole commercial as if it was just one song we heard this commercial so many times. For some reason I also remember when he said the drummer for Pilot looked like Sarah Connor.
I just heard the song "Shannon" and had never heard it outside of this commercial before. I had to go an look this up. Thanks for posting this. Thousands of times i saw this commercial growing up.
GREAT!!! I remember these commercials! Before the Internet and RU-vid, I used to record and watch these infomercials because it was all I had of footage from this era.
This commercial had the same effect on me. I thought it was earlier than 95 though. I'm sure there were other variants from earlier on. But it played incessantly during a heavy TV watching era for me. I think it influenced me during my run as an aspiring DJ too. thanks for the memories
holy shit I haven't seen this commercial in years, I've discovered so many great songs from this commercial and it sure brings me back lots of great memories! :)
I used to see this commercial on Cartoon Network ALL THE TIME. I memorized it, as well, and I'm sorry to say this but looking back, most of these songs seem like the novelty songs of that time.
They aired this heavily back in 1989. The only difference is you could order records. I would choose the records over the Cd's or the double length cassettes.
Saw this commercial alot back in the day especially on the USA and TNT networks, the funny thing is that years later when I worked for a department store they played songs like this on the speakers.
After a few days, I'm really thinking that this ad had to come from before 1995. I grad high school in 1994 and moved out of the area, and I'm pretty sure I saw this many numerous times while in school.
