My girlfriend was anxious from all the coffee she drank and I convinced her to curl up to me while I put this video on… yeah she slept in 5 min lol

WOW. Found this at a moment I wasn't looking for it and didn't realize I needed it. It was like the universe put its hands on my face, held me still, and said "Be here now."

Man I put this video on a couple of minutes ago and my cat seemed to really like the music, she jumped on my desk and started cuddling and meowing at me like she really wanted some attention. I put my work down and just cuddled her while she headbutted me, and at one point she just laid her head on my arm so lovingly and something just broke inside of me. I can't exactly put the feeling into words, but just seeing this action from my cat made me realize that there's at least this one creature in this life that loves me unconditionally. I just started crying while petting her and then (she never did this before, by the way) she stood up and while I was wiping away at my tears she started licking my forehead. It was just so wholesome and I was filled with love and appreciation for this moment in my life. For some context, she's 10 years old. Last summer I had to put down my older cat of 18 years, who's been there with me my whole life. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I became so depressed and grief overtook my life for months. But this little one, my younger cat, which I took home from the street 10 years ago when she was just a kitten, she helped me through this grief. I connected so much more with her over the last year and it's painful thinking about how much it will hurt when the day comes when she passes as well. But this experience has taught me to be grateful and so much more appreciative of the connection we have, not just with her, but with other people in my life as well. The one-year date is approaching soon, and I know it will be hard moving forward, but at least these moments remind me that just like my younger cat, I also had many, many of these moments with my older one as well. She helps me remember that she was here too, that all those loving memories still exist and they're not going anywhere. And I can be grateful for having the opportunity to continue living and loving her as well. Until time parts us, I will treasure these moments while I'm still living them, and even after it does, I'll be comforted knowing I got to experience this life and this kind of love with them.
