Perfect for my Ford Excursion - no vents for top monitor and fills a big empty space on my dash I considered modifing to install another monitor - now I dont have to - sweeeeeeeet!

You're right - I went with the Joying 10.1" it is literally a gigantic Android that can do more than I need + I can remove the screen for security. This soundstream is missing a lot of basic stuff - kool idea, but lacking in being able to keep up with Androids and iPhone as far as options go.

I just bought one and it not even used it one day, and the bottom screen stays stuck. I have to push it close with my hand. The top screen will come out and go back in, but the bottom one only comes out, and then stays stuck in the tilled position. This sucks :(

several thousand dollar apps is chump change to a large production company. you have the chipsets already from TI, Android is already an open format (Linux), the only time-consuming part would be writing the DSP program. but even Kenwood has managed to do it for their new amp. it's not hard. heck Soundstream already has a DSP product out, just add it to the device, add the program. These companies just refuse to do it. your cell phone evolution analogy is right on, but how long has double din head-units been out already?

Damn man your point is also spot on. But I meant several thousands for the end consumer like you and I. Double dins should be well ahead of where they are today I cant argue that its pretty sad.. I think it boils down to how greedy these companies want to be for what we *REALLY* want. But Kenwood is producing some nice stuff; on the right track with the DDX9704S & DNX874S. Ima keep an eye on the DDX9704S for price drops. Its actually pretty close to your op.

I want it. But the only thing holding me back is the bottom screen once the top screen is folded out the bottom screen has to be on that shit angle. If both screen set flush to each other same angle I'll be keen but the bottom screen is holding me bk

Soundstream is NOT as good as they used to be.. Hell even back in the day we called them Smoke Stream.. Local shops near me stopped carrying them because to many were burning up. Even the demo car caught on fire at Mobile 1. My Reference 700s fried twice. Only amp I ever had burn up on me and I have owned many.
