Just listened to this after hearing demos of the Boss MD500 and these sound so much better in context of playing to a backing. Also, I'm sure the Boss will do all the sounds these can do but I bet you can get more out of one of these combined with the Vertigo tremolo pedal... and for less money!

I just have to say after watching every demo on these One Series pedals that I could find I ended up buying the Gemini Chorus, the Vertigo Tremelo, and the Mercury Flanger. They are the most amazing pedals I've used (I don't use the MIDI, the Neuro App, etc.). Just out of the box. Lush, rich, syrupy, stereophonic wonder. I'm blown away. I'm a Boss CE-1 guy and I'm not missing it with the Gemini on my board. Same goes with my Mercury in place of the Electric Mistress. The Vertigo is equally deep. If you're at all on the fence I say give one of them a try.

Three's the charm. I use the Gemini, Vertigo, Nemesis - all connected via the HUB to my MIDI switcher, It takes a bit of work to navigate the editor but even just saving 3-6 scenes is going to give me a wider range of tones than a whole bunch of "classic" pedals. I still keep a couple of those on the board, tho, mostly for stacking purposes. Always like to have one legit analog delay and my E-Lady flanger. E-Lady+Gemini=Awesomeness. And I'm not selling my Tech21 RotoChoir anytime soon, as I like to run Chorus to one amp and Rotary in stereo. Gets you into Floyd "Pulse" territory, especially "Any Colour You Like"

I had the Boss RV-500 reverb... was excited to get it shipped... got it out of the box and plugged it in... fart and turd... ALL 12 of the factory presets sounded terrible. AND... the only way to get anything "good" out of it (I suppose) was to sit for hours with the "War and Peace" sized manual... it was in NO WAT intuitive to use... what a drag... Took it to my local store and dumped it off for wholesale for $180 bucks. -- THEN >>> I bought the Source Audio Ventris Dual-Reverb... holy cow... RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX I was able to get amazing sounds. I didn't need to read the manual, the knobs on the front were immediatle intuitive. Plus, as is the case with all the One Series pedals, w/ the (free) Neuro Desktop Editor, when you buy one pedal, you get several pedals w/ the editor. Like... I bought the Lunar Phaser... and all the algorhithms for the Mercury Flanger as well as all of the algorithms for the Gemini Chorus are available through the Neuro editor. Buy one, get three... same thing with the L.A. Lady Overdrive... with the free editor you also get all the algorithms of the Kingmaker Fuzz and the Aftershock Bass Distortion (in all, the editor gives you a total of FIFTY algorithms to use with just this one pedal. PLUS the front face of the pedal is very easy to use and understand. PLUS the eidtor GUI is a snap to use, I have not yet needed to open a manual to use ant of the Source Audio One Series pedals. Sooo... I bought them all... I'm not a "MIDI guy" but at age 59 I may try to buy a MIDI controller such as a Disaster Area DPC-5 Gen 3 MIDI Controller to link 128 presets per pedals, an work up scenes for songs, etc... I only know the words right now, I have no idea how to do that, but this is (to me) way better than any of the Boss clusterfucks of butt time in manual readings. I hate reading manuals. Source Audio also has the best customer service I have ever heard of any manufacturer of any goods available for sale in any market. Even simple how to questions are answered. For one question I had, the customer service guy made me my own specific RU-vid video just to explain very clearly the how-to... amazing customer service. Source Audio is well worth any red cent you send their way. If you need to save up to buy their gear... do it. But their One Series aren't a million bucks each like Strymon, etc... I love my Source Audio stuff and highly recommend it to everybody.

I reckon Boss stuffed up with those 500 series pedals. The 200 series seem far better. I'm happy with Source Audio tho. Jonesing for a Collider and the analog boost pedal, the Zio!

definitely some nice sounds.The versatility is great but I feel like these still can't quite do anything that hasn't been done before. I've never heard the phrase "shadow flanger" but it sounds excellent, along with the 8 stage phaser and the dual chorus.

Okay that was just not fair... I don't typically care too much about Phaser, or Flange or even Chorus honestly so I was going to get the Orbital Modulator as a catch all, but I see Source Audio in conjunction with the Arcane Tone Cabal that is PGS demo team have totally changed my mind. These sound wonderful. Sold.

Nice to hear that you're interested in our gear! Mike totally rocked this demo, BTW. One of the cool things about the One Series modulation pedals is that any one of them can do Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, and even Tremolo effects. With the Neuro Mobile app you can import phaser effects into the Gemini Chorus or chorus sounds into the Lunar Phaser, etc. etc.. The One Series pedals are also stereo, which is a cool thing.

my fave is vibe, as in univibe and this unit does everything else great but the vibe is something most companies have a lot of trouble with so I guess its time to go for the dry bell at a cost double what one of these goes for. Damn it.

I have a Gemini chorus and every time i engage it, there seems to be a slight volume drop. I was given suggestions on how to potentially fix this but it requires the neuro app, which wont let me make an account to use or log into for some reason. Is there an internal fix i can try?? This really bums me out because i love the way this pedal sounds
@ProGuitarShopDemos
@ProGuitarShopDemos Год назад
You really should contact Source Audio regarding your Neuro account. There are all kinds of extra parameters like EQ and specifically Output level within the software. I'd suggest a factory reset once you've got the App sorted out. Good luck!

C'mon SourceAudio - make them properly MIDI compatible instead of needing a proprietary box that needs another box to control it.
@sourceaudioeffects
@sourceaudioeffects 8 лет назад
+pd4165 Thanks for the feedback - your complaint is totally legitimate. Here's how we see it - not including an onboard MIDI DIN connector was definitely a judgement call on our part. Yes, we could have done it, but we decided that a large percentage of guitar players have no interest in controlling their pedals with MIDI messages, so why ask them to pay for a feature that they're not going to use (the MIDI jack would add to the cost of the pedal)? By making all of the One Series pedals compatible with the Hub, those who DO want MIDI control can have it with all our One Series pedals. The Hub only costs $99, so yes, it is an added cost, but there would have been added cost if the MIDI plug was built into the pedal. The primary advantage is that you can plug up to five of our One Series and Soundblox 2 pedals into a single Hub unit and control them all with one MIDI signal. That means that you can save up to 128 different multi pedal presets (that includes external expression control) all recallable with single MIDI program change messages.

+sourceaudioeffects Although I love to fantasise that I'm going to be playing huge stages the truth is most of us are on 5 beercrates at the end of the bar so real estate is a serious issue. Very. And cabling too - one failure, or loss, can = no $$$ for the gig if you can't improvise round it. So addition units, even at $99, are more costly than the purchase price. The skinny with me - I'm not going to buy a hub. Having a hub means having something to command it and once you have a commander it might as well be midi capable. That means I'm not buying a one series because I'd resent it sitting there with it's one sound when I know it has 128 hidden in there that I can't access - and single pedals are common as...stuff that comes out of horses. I wouldn't ever need 128 sounds - in reality 5 is the maximum I'd use...but that's not the 1 that's your default. And you know we want more patches otherwise you wouldn't be developing programmable pots to retrofit to other companies wares. Including MIDI capability would bump up the price...unless you made a module that any fool with a soldering iron could retrofit into the pedal. You're really trying to compete in two different markets at once - full midi capability and stand alone pedal - and not satisfying either. If I was looking to tie myself into a single manufacturer I'd go with a Helix or FX8 and have it all in one box.
@thomaskolb8293
@thomaskolb8293 8 лет назад
I can dig the FX8 or Helix comment and the functionality comment, but good grief, these pedals sound great. Am getting tired of connect with this GD telephone that I don't want nor need the expense of.....let alone have to depend upon. I even like the idea of the FUSION guitar.......with exception that it has to be hooked up to a PHONE........STUPID STUPID STUPID....sell me a device that functions as a stand alone with the option of updating via PC...NOT a requirement to. It could even BE LIKE a phone just not require a connection, having all the functions and parameter adjustments, memory, etc. SOMETHING AMERICAN........not something ruled by the worthless snot in charge.

pd4165 I love my kingmaker and the software/options. there are 3 presets and if you hold the switch down for 2 seconds the led turns from green to red and puts you into "preset mode"you get 3 more. So for recording I have an OD on top of a Fuzz for each toggle position. I want the Lunar thingy now.
@CorbCorbin
@CorbCorbin 6 лет назад
XO Darkness Did you get the Lunar pedal? Is it pretty easy, to add the fx with your phone? I'm debating on the Lunar and Vertigo pedals, as I think they will have the most uses for me.
