Source Filmmaker basic tutorial: How to lip sync in SFM with a FNAF animatronic and a human model

You need VTF Edit and Source Filmmaker. You need to click "Add Override Materials" in the model and show in element viewer. Also after you did that, you need to go to materials and then go to the texture you want to change by clicking on it. So just get the textures from the materials folder or on the model of the folder. Copy the textures and paste on the models folder you want to put. And when that's done, right click on the texture you want to change (in the game), then do "string", okay when you did that. Type "$basetexture". After it's done, put like an example on the blank (This will only be a example) models\djebrayass\coolioart\oldfoxy\unweye. If this work then you are welcome for the help but if it don't work try typing "$iris" instead.

Hey there MLGconcrete:D I'm glad I could help:D I think SFM can record mic audio, though from my experience it records a lower quality version of the mic that you are using. I'd advise recording your mic in Audacity, and then exporting it to SFM with a stereo track. If you'd like to give the SFM mic recording a try, you can do this by clicking on dialog and pressing "Y" on the keyboard. It's great seeing you on the channel:D

As in like a robot voice? I'm not too sure, I normally try to get my voice as close to the voice I'm trying to act and then I adjust it's pitch if needed.

You have to import it as a WAV file and then re-name the file whatever you want or the sound won't play

The map I was using here was the Freddy's map by Jinxifyed I think. I found it on the Source Filmmaker workshop.

I'm not too sure, they only possible cause that I can think of is that it could be missing some textures and as a result not everything will show. Sometimes when SFM bugs around I may have to re-install it and maybe even deleting the SFM folder when I do, but if you do take this route then I'd advise backing up your usermod folder by copying it and pasting it to a different location so that way you won't lose any projects/Garry's Mod addons that you may have for Source Filmmaker.

Those are custom folders that need to be put in by yourself they can be named anything and in those custom folders is where you can put the .wav file, songs and stuff

Are you exporting it with an mp4 format, MPEG and H.264? Those are my render settings.

I can't tell if you are talking about the map or model, but what I can say is both of them are really really old and you have better options

YaBoiiMango You can animate well without LIP-sync. There are different types of sync, such as music sync. But don’t let a minor problem put you down. And hey, if you really want to go down the animating career path, try and get better components for your computer!

James Knapkin yea I’m semi-Good with animating, but lip sync is the only thing that is giving me problems, I have gotten the hang of it though. Also I’ll try and get more components but they are quite expensive

YaBoiiMango I have a tip for you to reduce lag. Select every model and then de-select it. For some reason that works. Also. If you are using audio files in mp3, change it to ogg. Ogg plays even when you just scroll over it with the arrow. Trust me it helps with lip-syncing
