SOUSA The Stars and Stripes Forever - "The President's Own" U.S. Marine Band 

When I was a little boy 70 years ago, I used sling my little toy tuba over my shoulder and march around the living room to this. To this day the song still gives me chills.

We're so used to hearing band music played by kids and amateurs it almost seems "wrong" to hear this played so perfectly.

Only the President's Own can make the listener appreciate having four piccolos on the obbligato.

I think the grin the conductor has when the trombones play the counter melody at the end says it all. Best Trombone counter melody ever written.

they played a concert in the town i lived in. and it was the best thing ever. those piccolos were in perfect sinc and tune. i didnt even thing that was humanly possible. that concert reminded why i chose to make music my career and life. awesome band!

I had the pleasure back in the 1990s of hearing the President's Own perform a concert at Duke University with a friend from my college days. They are the greatest of the military bands I have heard. Simply an amazing performance to hear the group.

The 3 inevitable things in life 1. Death 2. Taxes 3. People clapping while "Stars and Stripes" is playing

This song has many meanings to me. It was my high school alma mater. We played it with so much pride every time.

Love the marching harp. This conductor has such an ear. A joy to listen.

One of the greatest of bands to be able to play so profoundly and so beautifully. I rate this as one of the Best. Keep up the good job.

Probably my favorite Sousa march -- though I still like a lot of his others. They really stir the patriot in me!

Man they played that super clean. The piccolo obbligato sounded like one instead of four. Then again it is the Presidents US Marine Band. Arguably just about the best band there is.

Bringing the piccolos out to front and center stage was nice touch. I loved it.

I am playing this songs to encourage my Horses in Howrse to win Classical Competitions!

There is nothing whatsoever that makes me more patriotic than this wonderful march, Performed like this.

My great granddaughter is 11 and plays the trombone, my favorite of the brass instruments. She is really doing well and wants to continue. I encourage that with vigor.

The red headed Marine sitting almost directly in front of the conductor is six and centered and squared away. She knows her piece well, watches the conductor and rarely looks at her piece. I cannot quite make out her instrument but I believe she plays a tenor saxaphone.
