South Africa Celebration Series: Place of Hope Community Garden 

Next up in our South Africa Celebration Series, learn how Place of Hope, a community garden, is growing hope - one vegetable at a time - for the future of Early Childhood Development Centers and the surrounding community in Johannesburg.
📚 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁: Rise Against Hunger Africa’s Early Childhood Development Connect (ECD Connect) Program ensures children between ages 0 and 6 have access to quality education and nutritious meals. As part of this program, Rise Against Hunger Africa works alongside Place of Hope to harvest vegetables to provide nutrition for children in local ECDs and support the surrounding community.
🍚 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀: Since participating in the program, Place of Hope has made a difference in the lives of people in the community and children attending the ECDs by improving access to nutrition from harvesting fresh vegetables. Through the meals provided at the ECDs, Brian Nell, Rise Against Hunger Africa’s CEO, explains, “People can see change. People can see improvement.”
