South Africa's newly elected parliament is to convene for the first time on Friday as political parties scramble to form a coalition after general elections produced no outright winner. The ANC has been drawing up plans and negotiating with potential partners to form a government, but as the date approaches to convene the country’s parliament, there is no clear sight of who will take charge as South Africa's next leader. Last week, ANC’s Cyril Ramaphosa said that the party favoured forming a National Unity government. He called on other political parties to form an alliance but the proposal met a cool reception from some. As parties continue to reject one another, South Africa's fate has been left hanging in the balance.

I wish the African people would open their eyes and see, after 30 years and critically during the zuma "State Capture" years where things became just blatant, that voting for the same group of failed leadership again and again will not resolve their problem. Black Africans were able to see that the white minority government was not, because they did not, improve their lot and "kicked them out" but why can't they see that certain groups within the black leadership was not, because they did not, improve their lot either.

After 30 years of ANC uncontested leadership with almost a decade of shameful theft of the State by your own leaders (Jacob Zuma & gang) South Africa has gone down hill. Not primarily because of western moves. That excuse is a convenient and face saving story so South Africans can escape the blame they share in their own demise. you all could have noticed that things were going downhill and voted the ANC out of office. Now, the Political Independence is not comple te since 1994 and must be completed with the demands of the African Parties, even if it will entain economic pain.
