As we approach the end of 2023, we invite you to engage in a dialogue with prominent experts in the fields of economics, industry, politics, and business. Together, we will reflect on the year that has transpired and contemplate what lies on the horizon for 2024.
In light of the challenges faced throughout this year, including severe load-shedding resulting in the closure of many companies and industries, rising interest rates, the upcoming 2024 elections, escalating fuel costs, the profound impacts of climate change, ongoing conflicts - the Russia-Ukraine war and other global tensions, and. In the face of this complex landscape, we aim to decipher the state of the economy, the business prospects, and the outlook for 2024.
Is there room for optimism regarding economic recovery, and what further actions are necessary to facilitate it? How robust are the driving forces behind these potential recoveries, and what obstacles and risks may hinder progress? Could 2024 emerge as a brighter year following the tumultuous events of 2023?
Hosted by: Prof. Adrian Saville, GIBS faculty.
Panellists:
Busisiwe Mavuso, CEO, Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA);
Lee Naik, CEO, TransUnion Africa;
