I know right! I think it’s the culture, I know poetry is such a huge part of Bengali culture so maybe that’s why these songs have that feeling. I feel it too
This is the first Bengali song I’ve EVER heard in my life time. It’s so beautiful, touched my soul. wow I’ve got some catching up to do. Thank you for this! Liked. Subscribed. Commented 😂😂
I hope you enjoy Bengali music and culture as much as I do. The poetry, the feeling is something that touches me on a soul level. Thanks for your thoughts 🫡
Hi Salem, I am so glad that you reacted to my most favourite song from CSB till now and connected so well to the song.😊 You are such a wonderful interpreter of poetry. Actually, There are two songs here but conveying the same kind of feeling that is when we miss our dearest ones our ultimate feelings are somehow same whether it is in urban or rural. Arnob is singing the urban part (chiltey roude), this is an old song from one of his albums, he composed this song from a letter which was sent to her sister from her lover back in school days. This is saying how much he misses his loved one waking up in a suburb morning and could not find exact words to convey his feelings to his lover. On the other hand, the curly hair guy is singing the rural one (O ki ekbar ashiya), which is a Bhawaiya song (one kinda folk genre in Bangladesh). This is from a very famous old bhawaiya singer Abbasuddin Ahmed. This is also saying that he is missing his loved one and crying to meet his dearest one. You are also right about the matter that the urban people tend to be a bit introvert at expressing their actual feelings, on the other hand the rural one is not ashamed of telling his true words and requesting his lover to come and see. Overall, this is a very emotional song to me. I cried when I heard it for the first time and still this song makes me sad. Love from Bangladesh ❤
hey dear, I will just tell you my interpretation of this song. Here, the guy,(voiced by Arnob) is staying in a city for work or some other reason with all the comforts, but somehow all he can think about is the beautiful face of his beloved that he had left back at home. And the Girl( voiced by Ripon) is basically leading a life around beautiful nature and simplicity, but all she craves is one look from her lover. Chiltey Roud means drop of sunlight. Coke studio usually has good translation but if I were to make them, I would have done this differently. “ Chiltey roud e pakhna dobai” “I endeavour myself in the little sun-shine” “muchki hase sohortoli” “ As the city smiles at me” “ Roj sokale porche mone” “ But, you are in my every morning” “ai kotha ta kamne boli” “How do I even convey the feeling”. At this point Ripon sings on behalf of the girl, “ O ki ak ber asia, sonar chad mor jao go dekhiye” “ Hey, can you just come to me for once, can you just look at this beautiful face just once”. This is just the intro, but the whole song is like this. One pair, where one partner is craving to see his beloved, remembering her every single moment if the day but can not even express it, let along do anything about it (due to situation) and the other partner is basically pleading him to have at least a look at her.
This is a very sad song. I always listen this song alone cause it makes me cry. Reminds me of my deceased Mother. I wish she had just come for once and took a peek at me like she used to do while I was asleep during my childhood.. That's what the song says.
Village and City things in mind are actually accurate in some way. The other guy is singing the folk and Arnob sining the modern contemporary style, so ur interpretion is right.
Hahahaha maybe I am??? 🤣 I connect really easily to these songs. All I really know is my great great grandparents are from India but maybe somewhere before then my ancestors come from Bengali roots 😂😂
