To answer (BTW, just found this channel and I love you!), the bald eagle is our National bird 🦅. It doesn't just represent the military, but every single American 🇺🇸 ❤

The bell was the Liberty Bell, and it cracked the first time it was rung; it is housed in Philadelphia. The 2 men with the flag are from WWII. My father served in WWII and my son is a veteran, plus my daughter went to OSU. I am very proud and touched by the tribute.

It didn't crack the first time it was rung. That is something that is untrue that people believe. It cracked over a pretty long period. You can look it up if you don't believe me.

Actually the two men holding placing the American Flag in the ground is from the Battle of Iwo Jima of World War 2 in the Pacific Ocean with the Japanese.

What's amazing to me. Is that the Ohio State Buckeyes are a college team. The football team has ranked in the top ten. for most years and top 3 for the majority of the last few decades. These are kids under 25. The same goes for the marching band. All while none are getting paid. not the band or players. Look how many people they have in the stands. The tickets aren't cheap. Around 100,000 people every week. Then you look at the NFL and you don't find anything like this. And those are professionals making millions. And they don't have to go to classes, do homework, and study. On top of that. I don't know how they find enough hours to do all of this and still make it to practice. Especially since the performance all home games, some away, or specialty performances. Crazy!

The Eagle is our National Bird and a symbol of freedom. This is just one of many logos showing the American flag with it - but it is used a lot again showing the symbolism and America and the Bald Eagle. That bell is the Liberty Bell which was rung to symbolize American's Independence from Great Britain, and it was rung again on George Washington's Birthday when it is believed that it sustained the crack that ended it being rung again. This bell can be seen in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! My DAD was in the Army Air Corp in WWII which became the United State Air Force - I'm still so proud of him and he's been gone for a bit now - ❤🤍💙

The reason you may have seen that specific eagle so much is because it is the eagle on the Great Seal of the United States. The same eagle is used in the presidential seal and several military branches also use the same eagle. It is usually clutching an olive branch in one talon and 13 arrows in the other.
@Allaiya.
@Allaiya. 6 месяцев назад
This. Plus the eagle head always faces the olive branch (with 13 leaves) to symbolize the country’s desire for peace while at the same time holds the arrows to symbolize it stands ready to defend itself.

FYI: I don't know if you understand the music they are playing. In Britain it would be your "God Save Our Queen", but here in the USA it is "Our Country 'Tis of Thee". The bell they formed is actually the Liberty Bell, and in the song it sings about "let freedom ring", hence the ringing of the Liberty Bell. Very poignant when you know the song.

The emblem you asked about…. The eagle symbolizes strength and courage and hope for a prosperous nation. The flag in the center obviously represents our national flag. The 5 stars on the flag represent the 5 branches of the military (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard). Of course now we have the Space Force so that may have to be updated.

The American eagle and the liberty bell, two most famous symbols of the USA. The flag is US Marines on Iwo Jima during WWII. Then at the end there was Yankee Doodle from the Revolutionary war and something from the Civil War, I think. My father was a USAF pilot and my BIL s currently a serving US Marine, and this made me cry.

This is a tribute to all the branches of service in our military and to those who have ever served. Also some of our other songs praising our country, something some places think we do too much of, but after all this is our home. I don't think we like to admit it, but we know those tunes, and it does make you a bit teary eyed or emotional when it's done like this, usually it's done on our birthday. For us that's the 4th of July, but the marching bands march at football games in the fall mostly, so it's really nice but brings the emotions kind of unexpectedly. Kinda makes you want a hotdog-because that's pretty universal for the 4th.

As previously stated by others, the two men raising the US flag was depicting the raising of the US flag on Mount Suribachi, on the doorstep to Okinawa and the Japanese home islands in 1945. The American fighting men assigned to this 36-day operation (army/navy/marines) totaled 110,000 and approx 500 ships. Battleships and other big guns were called in to pulverize the island for days/weeks before any landing. However, 6,821 servicemen died and nearly all the 20,000 Japanese combatants died, when the final count was taken.

Hi! My son is a freshman in college now but for the last 6 years he was in marching band at his middle/high school. It really was amazing what those kids could do. Their band director was amazing. The band marched not only at each home football game but played in pep band, they regularly went to Disneyworld where they marched at the parade (my son was able to go twice), they marched in the Cincinnati Reds Opening day parade and so much more. Our son started with trumpet but also played tuba, mellophone and French horn. In fact, he loved band so much that he fixed up their practice field for his Boy Scout Eagle Scout project. He now plays his trumpet in his college pep band. I can’t help but gush about it. We are so proud and it was SO much fun. We are definitely feeling the “empty nest” syndrome but are so very thankful for what we have had throughout the years. 😊

I have been told that the band has only a week to practice. They arrive early before class in the mornings and stay late. In addition, many members of the band are on scholarships at the school and need to keep good grades to remain in band and to keep their scholarships.

I was a member of the US Honor Guard at the 200th Anniversary of the "Battle of Yorktown". Where the British General Cornwallis surrendered to General George Washington. Oct 19, 1781. You can be forgiven for not understanding the images. The "bell" is the Liberty Bell from Independence Hall in Philadelphia. it was rung when the Declaration of Independence was voted on. The men raising the flag is a direct reference to the world famous photograph of US Marines raising the Flag over the island of Iwo Jima during WWII. Check out "Liberty Bell" and "Iwo Jima Flag".

The first service song is the Coast Guard, all too familiar with it since my dad served until 1982. The title for it is "Semper Paratus" I used to know it word for word since my parents would sing it loud when the song came on during performances live or on tv. Familiar with all of the other songs played since I have family that served or are currently serving both during war time and at peace in most of the branches. From what my uncle had researched my mom's side had service members going as far back as when the country was still the colonies and the formation of the branches. Not from the Ohio area, nor a OSU alumni but always enjoy watching their shows here on youtube.

Ryan, the swinging bell is what we call the Liberty Bell, which is in downtown Philadelphia, and you'll notice it has a crack in it, which happened the first time it was rung. This is the first time I've heard the Space Force anthem. After the various forces' anthems were Yankee Doodle and When Johnny Comes Marching Home, then God Bless America

I'm not as keen o the Space Force nor the Coast Guard's songs - need work ;) Love Yankee Doodle Dandy too and the songs following... all greats. 3:40 That is The Great Seal of the United States. It is filled with symbolism from the eagle to the stars and stripes, to the motto. In its talons the eagle carries arrows that symbolize war and an olive branch that symbolizes peace. The eagle's head is turned toward the eagle's right and the olive branch indicating America prefers peace, but the arrows are a reminder we're also prepared for war. There is a reverse side too which contains a pyramid and the Eye of Providence. The Great Seal can be found on the $1 bill and on Air Force One. It is on the podium from which the president speaks at news conferences. It is in the floor of the Oval Office in the White House.

OSU may play a lot of different kinds of music but they have the sound that sets them apart because they don't have what other bands do but you wouldn't know it
