NOBODY EVER GAVE CREDIT TO THE SONG ARRANGER . . .why is that RYAN?? Whitney's performance will not be that memorable without a good outline of the song. .
Totally awesome!! Check out their Michael Jackson tribute they did a few years ago! Gotta love our sports in the USA! Thanks for following us in crazy America 🇺🇸
The dedication, sweat, tears and talent are so inspiring. Something I could NEVER EVER DO, but so appreciate and was a childhood dream to play the glockenspiel with The BC marching band.
I love this story, it's very inspirational, but unfortunately they took a lot of liberties with the truth. There was no ultimatum to lower the flag by the British. The British were defeated at Fort McHenry September 15, 1814 and the war wasn't over till January 8, 1815, three and a half months later, after the Battle of New Orleans. There were no negotiations to release any military prisoners. Francis Scott Key went to secure the release of one person, a friend of his, the elderly Dr. William Beanes, a civilian non-combatant who had been taken prisoner by the British as they departed Washington, DC after burning the White House, the Capitol, and other government buildings. Key didn't go into Fort McHenry that morning after the bombardment. He was held by the British for two days after the bombardment before he was released. The shelling that night wasn't non-stop. A nor'easter blew in and all the rain dampened the gunpowder and fuses so the cannons couldn't be fired. Patriot's bodies didn't hold up the flag. US casualties were 4 killed and 24 wounded, and nobody went and held the flag up, it was never knocked down. The British, however, lost about 330 men when we managed to fire back when the British ships got too close. So, there's a lot not that's true in this story. My love and respect for the flag is not because of this story, but for the freedom the flag represents and because of my love and respect for the men who fought in all the wars to keep it flying. Also, the notion that when the flag waves in the breeze the wind is created by the last dying breath of every American soldier who died to defend it and the freedom it represents.
I am an American🇺🇸& A Texan🤠this is a BEAUTIFUL tribute 2 the men & women who have died 2 keep this country free. Today’s world is so complicated, I❤my country, but I hate our Government. I hope President DJT can get us back on the right track! TRUMP 2024! ❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏾❤️🙏❤️🙏🏿❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏽❤️🇺🇸🥰📜🦅
Strangely, this particular show was an uncharacteristically sloppy performance. The far side of the formation was severely out of alignment on a handful of occasions during the first half of the show. It didn't destroy the performance or anything, but I'm sure that group got chewed out big time during practice the following week. But in a way, it's a testament to how much we have come to expect pure perfection from this group that a few small glitches will stand out like a sore thumb.
Thanks for this video and your warm response. It is so nice to see such real appreciation of the US from so many You Tube websites that are from other parts of the world. I want to add to your comments that his fellow, Samuel, represents the average American in general, and this has been shown in every war Americans have been in. Of course, this doesn't mean that we have won every war, especially the insurgency ones, like Vietnam, and to some degree, the Afghanistan war, but the attitude and fighting spirit is always there.
Lifelong resident in Bryan/College Station which is home of Texas A&M University and no matter how many times I see them it gives me chills. The crowd doesn’t even go to restroom or concession until after the band is done playing.
Good video, but the underlying documentary is fiction Key did write the Star Spangled Banner after watching the bombardment of Fort McHenry But, it was from a US Naval ship And there were no prisoners or women and children Only 4 people and no one held up the flag
The American Spirit will not die will not fade will not take a knee. we keep fighting I do not believe we are divided we just went to sleep now they woke the sleeping giant
I love it when people from other countries get it ya know. Being American isn't about location. it's about the spirit of freedom happiness Love Faith and United States needs some healing. Can we start a problem to deport the US haters and bring our fellow Americans across the globe
This was as of 2017. What the Pentagon was willing to tell the world in 2017. Americans know -- and the rest of you guys ought to as well -- that the crazy stuff under development (and there's *always* crazy stuff under development) isn't being talked about. Yet. 🌻
I was in shock, I was mad, I had a son join the Army. We will never forget and even with all of the turmoil today, we are still Angry Americans. We will stand as the American people, be damned what the government says. There are 265,000,000 registered gun owners in America. Those who want to come in and take over, WE WISH A MOTHER FR WOULD TRY. And here in the South, we all hunt and love moving targets. This would definitely not be the place to mess with. New York and California, kiss you butts goodbye, but we'll save you too.
Guys AND gals in the "Best Damn Band In The Land!" (YES! I am in Ohio!) The one you didn't know right b4 the HPotter one was the Eye of Sauron (sp?) I think Lord of the rings? How they do all of it in about 30 hours of practice AND play instruments at the same time... just saying. Yes that's Jurassic Park. Did you notice the T-Rex ate the Tuba player?
The VP at the time was no. 2 for pres. so they were opponents until then. This is not in any way strange or anything they didn't know would happen eventually.
I was working as a counselor at the biggest US Navy base after 9-11. This song meant so much to everyone there. I was counseling sailors and marines going off to war not knowing if they'd come back. Toby's song became a rallying cry and was adopted as their theme song. I can still see the faces of the military members singing along to it.
The foreign foods sections in American grocery stores typically have Latin American or (supposedly) Asian products, though occasionally I have seen European products too. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a South African product in the foreign foods section but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t ever happen. Maybe some of your products get imported to grocery stores here, idk.
