Only donors who paid between 1500$ - 3000$ were allowed to attend this debate. Meaning the audience was virtually all establishment and elite. Meaning modest average Americans were basically shut out. What a disgrace.
@Carne Asada I agree with that quote but you still haven't figured out that Bernie is not advocating for Socialism. He's a Social Democrat or Democratic Socialist whom are basically people who advocate for a Capitalist market economy with a higher tax-funded social safety net, i.e free healthcare, free education. Similar system to those in Canada, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway etc. Well overdue for you willfully ignorant idiots to learn the difference between the terms. Google is your friend, use it before you spout nonsense next time! 👌
Each time Bernie gets asked "How are you going to pay for it?" He should just reply, "I'm gonna make Mike pay for it", chuckle to himself and move on to another question.
All attacks and few solutions. This is why people hate politicians. Bernie is emerging as the only candidate who has communicated what he wants to do, whether people agree with him or not. The rest are just hoping to win by tearing everyone else down. If you disagree, tell us what any other candidate plans to do to help Americans.
My wife and I was ready to come through the TV at Pete for his interruptions. Yes others did it, but boy did he take it to another level. He had no talking points other than attacking Bernie.
The black moderator never called on Pete, so he got frustrated for being ignored. He was rude but had reason to be. Bloomberg won the debate because he appears to be the best at working with both parties
Matt Rainwater Luckily I think came off as mean and petty. Lots of people are between buttigieg and Bernie though so hopefully that childish display will push some of those people to Bernie
This debate will not change much. Biden's campaign will improve in South Carolina (which, is not saying much), and Sanders will likely triumph, once again.
Sergeant Tibs: He can’t, he owes his dear life to the establishment. There’s no way for him to assess if he can ever be relevant to his handlers in the future. Soooo, this is his one political shot; unless he changes party affiliation of course ........
Does Pete realize that even if he wins the nomination, he will need Bernie supporters to vote for him in order to actually win the general election? He's just giving us reasons to never vote for him.
Honestly, all of them should stop attacking each other because whoever wins the nomination will need the support of each candidates’ base. The Democratic Party needs to be united if they want to beat Trump. The candidates should be pushing their ideas to earn votes, not attacking.
Number of Bernie Supporters who voted for Trump in 2016: *Michigan: 47,900.* Trump's margin was *10,704.* *Pennsylvania: 117,100.* Trump's margin was *44,292.* *Wisconsin: 51,317.* Trump's margin was *22,748.* Bernie supporters made Trump president. We all need to vote for the democratic nominee, whether it's Bernie or someone else. *Source:* 2016 National Popular Vote Tracker, U.S. Election Atlas, Brian Schaffner. The final question was "What's the biggest misconception about you". Amy Klobuchar says, "the biggest misconception is that I'm boring, cause I'm not". Then she launches into her family history. What was that about you not being boring Amy?
@Andrew Bird By the way thanks for your support of TYT. The one thing you fuckhead trolls never understand is that you guys clicking and commenting on these video only helps TYT and us who support them. So please keep raging and we'll keep growing :)
@Andrew Bird Why? I get a free subscription to any paid RU-vid channel with RU-vid Premium...I've been a fan of TYT since the late Bush Jr. era. They're certainly not what they use to be (Cenk had mellowed out a lot, which might surprise you!!) and I have a lot of problems with how they discuss identity politics (which is political cancer...and some of TYTs host like to prop this failed idea up). I also really don't appreciate how Ana had spoken about Tulsi Gabbard: she can kiss my ass for slamming a war veteran and a powerful advocate for ending the "endless wars". That all being said...there's still merit in engaging with imperfect progressives. Don't you feel weird commenting on channels you don't like the content of? Don't you think you would be spending your time better engaging with communities that you enjoy being a part of?
@@bernlin2000 There is no point in actually talking with this guy he is just a troll nothing else. You will never get a thoughtful or even slightly intelligent response.
Sry. I watched in the debate and it was nothing like the YT made it look. He had a very strong answer. The Young turks misrepresent pretty hard on this one.
Wife and I voted for Bernie in NC today...he's going to win!! :) It will be close in SC possibly...but Bernie will crush it on Super Tuesday...and most of the contests after that.
The talking over someone else is a strategy used by some politicians over here in the UK. They tend to use it when the point being made by the other person is valid, and they want to stop the audience hearing it.
Debate seats were bought and paid for. According to local Charleston news station WSCS, sponsorship ranges for seats at the debate cost from $1,750 to $3,200. Bloombergs campaign purchased the majority of the seats.
Douglas Ragan That was too damn obvious too! I was like come on now.. Bernie is polling right with Biden in SC but they groaned and crap with Bernie but cheered all the time with Biden.. Yea not buying it at all..I don't get why NOBODY is calling Biden out for his LIES about being arrested going to see Mandela and him fighting civil rights!
When Elizabeth got booed I was wondering if these people where bought. it didn’t not make any sense on how hard they where’s protecting Bloomberg after the sexual allegations thrown at him
The other candidates had nothing to lose so they do everything possible. So at the end of the day this will make Bernie even stronger. They will never learn.
@Speedy Bohlke We don't have to "follow" blindly. We can see what others have done right and try to do better. We don't have to keep overpaying for health care, and allowing our literacy to continue to fall behind the world simply because Cuba is ahead of us and we don't want to be like them. Germany pays people to go to college because they realize that an educated population is good for their society. It is an expense that makes sense.
No rich person is going to end up poor, or even non-rich, if Bernie raises taxes, just be a tiny bit less rich. Nine yachts instead of ten. And it's been more or less demonstrated that above 90 grand or so more money only adds negligibly to your happiness. He will not stop anyone being rich. The idea is to make the poor less poor. Just so they dont have to be afraid of starving. How much does it cost for someone not to starve? A couple hundred bux? Rich ppl spend that much on a bottle of wine or a single meal sometimes.
Bernie Sanders should say, ‘Hay I HATE Authoritarians, in fact the US is TOO cozy with too many dictators. We are going to stop supporting authoritarian dictators.’ Change the message, switch hit and knock the detractors off their tracks!
I live in California, A Bloomberg canvasser knocked on my door. I told him I was voting for Tulsi if she was still in and if not,Bernie.he said ‘me too! I am just getting paid to canvass.’ Oh dear.
BERNIE explained himself to Chris Cuomo and CNN’s viewers thoroughly without interruption on the earlier telecast. All his policies were detailed then. Just because they all piled up on him during this “debate” doesn’t diminish Bernie. Not one bit. BERNIE/TULSI 2020!!!!!!
@butch cassidy He said that he condemns the authoritarian aspects. It's just a simple fact that in every authoritative regime that exists and has existed, there have been a few things we can learn from. There were positive aspects of Hitler's Germany, and I can admit that even though I'm not a right winger by any means. Cuba under Castro is the same way. To deny that is intellectual dishonesty.
@butch cassidy You face it - you only care about you and no one else, and certainly not the truth. I'd tell you to stop spouting all the lies, but it's pointless. Like all greed-driven, right wing shills, you are conscienceless crap. What a waste of human cells.
I have been saying for years the debate organizers need to start realizing that mics have a mute button. Every mic not being used by the current speaker should be muted.
Yeah, when Pete talked over Bernie for a whole minute or so, that was quite irritating. I can't stand that guy. Half of these people need to just give it up. Biden seems confused and angry. What's he still doing there?
He never said that Cuba was good because Communism. He said good things about a communist because literacy. So fight about Literacy vs. Communism. Fight me!
Biden will hold his own in SC where he tends to do well. Buttigieg will lose the most ground in SC because he has virtually no minority support. Super Tuesday, Buttigieg will realize his campaign is dead in the water, same with Warren and Klobuchar. After Super Tuesday, it will be Sanders, Biden, Steyer, Bloomberg left. Steyer and Bloomberg will stay in it no matter how bad they do in the primaries because they have endless cash flow to fund campaigns. If Biden is smart, he will pull out--after Super Tuesday likely leaves him floundering at best--and throw his support behind another candidate, then hope to get on a ticket as VP.
Mini Mike had people pay $3200/seat to cheer for him in tonight's debate. CBS even gave him the questions beforehand, and kept cutting off bernie for him. This was the most biased and rigged debate I have ever seen in my life.
And he almost slipped up and told him. As soon as I heard it oooo Mikey Mikey Mikey smh . 🤦♂️Almost let the cat out of the bag with that one trying to be braggadocios. Just to stop that Mean Warren from beating him up. Last time he wanted to take his ball and go home. This time He invited everybody to his house. And still lost Elizabeth Warren Still Poked him in the eye. And Audience one sided boo's to attacks on him .and hoorays when he talked are people gave him praise. But still good wrestling match though. Bloomberg has one big backyard Wonder at the moderators come with it.
Surely the average American can afford $1750 - $3500 for a seat at the Debates right? That won't make the audience a bit elitist AT ALL. I was concerned that the audience might not be very representative of the people when they responded so strangely and so differently from the audience in Nevada, but I am thoroughly convinced that isn't the case now. (nods sarcastically)
This election has been one of most fascinating examples of how broken the system is. Why do we use a game show system to educate American voters about our candidates?
You know my whole big take away from Pete is that he was like oh let’s do the math let’s do the math and then when he gets his chance to do the math he just answers it with a platitude and a talking point it’s just like OK
There was a Bloomberg fumble that I found hilarious, he said he donated like 100M to most of the democrats in the blue wave; but then said I own... (caught himself) and finished his thought. It was a great Freudian slip
They won't let Bernie win. If he had said everything about Castro was bad, the question last night would have been- "Bernie, you said Castro was bad but he taught people to read. Why do you oppose literacy?"
right. well, $3200 and how can that not be a free lottery for registered voters shared out 50:50 red/blue with the insistence that there's no audience participation (because it influences the perception of viewers.)
Because the establishment is grasping for air, they don't have anything on Bernie, and they're trying to throw whatever they can at Bernie hoping it will stick. They are trying so hard to stop Bernie.
@Lawrence Parker Welcome to the reality. No one accepted Trump was as well attacked. So, it is always fun to watch you guys feel the heat abit. Maybe the experience will teach some of you to be honest even when you dont like the other person.
@Lawrence Parker Well, it is a good thing that you guys feel it as well so that next time we can both stand for truth . The reaction to Trump was why I woke up and saw the liberals for who they truly are: Hypocrites.
Pete was a lot more insufferable than usual. The audience was strange this time around. Wonder if the "sponsorship for tickets" bullshit had anything to do with that...👀
The League of Women voters used to run the debates. They turned off mics and asked solid questions. For profit media should not be running debates, this is not project runway.
I think it's safe to say the debate was a shitshow lol. And yeah Bernie was the winner because he was the only one not acting catty and was actually on topic.
Anyone else notice how much everyone freaked out when Bernie said that his comments on Castro were no different than what Obama had said when he was on office. They started yelling that he can't compare himself to Obama 🤣🤣🤣
That helps him. The same way that it helps Trump. Everybody hates the media. The best thing the establishment can do for someone is to be against them. I'm not sure if they realize this or not.
@@Jordan-Ramses Oh so everyone hating Trump is a good thing. 🤣🤣 Whow! Well, I got news for you guys, Trump was very real. He still is. He is blatantly blunt. Bernie is not even hated by the Media as Trump was. If they go after him like they did Trump, he will be long gone. Imagine Chris apologising. That tells you the media are not after him. Just afew media personalities and the DNC. So they are not even even yet you guys are already getting scared.
I am from the U.S., living in Mexico, and I have been to Cuba and it is a really nice place! It's beautiful! It is an international mecca for travelers that want to stay away from 'americans'. Cuba was lovely, super safe, the literacy rate is one of the highest, they have amazing doctors and have created a vaccine for lung cancer, the people who's houses we stayed in and who showed us around were amazingly nice and helpful. Cuba is a beautiful country with amazing people and a lovely culture!
I don't understand why they don't control the microphones at these debates. the moderators should disable who ever isn't supposed to be speaking, can't be that difficult.
Days like this I just donate a few bucks more to Bernie's campaign and feel a little bit better. Warren is such a disappointment.... No idea where her values are .
