The 23-24 South Carolina season has set the stage for a potential multi-year level of dominance that no sport has ever seen. Anyone who comes to SC would come knowing the expectation of trusting the process because it is 100% proven. They won't have to waste any time or effort weeding out the Saniyah Rivers and Talaysia Cooper's of the world.
South Carolina is by FAR the most talented & physical team in the land. The reason they don't have a lot of individual accolades is because they don't play a lot of minutes or rely on one player for offense.
Drop the mic then Max, cause you over here speaking facts!! Congratulations again to our #GarnetAndBlack Daycare Delegation & THEE Dawn Staley!! #IssaGoodDayToBeAGamecocksFAM‼️ ❤️🖤🏀🤙🏾🤙🏾
Speaking of the transfer portal I think a lot of star players or top recruits across the country are starting to realize it’s more than just stats you got to have the wins to show. It’s great and all to be averaging a lot of points and but in the end you’ll want to win it all and that just wasn’t happening for a lot of them. If not win at least a good chance at making the tournament or having a good run. Players need to make conscious decisions when choosing schools and understand it’s a team effort. Wishing everyone the best in the transfer portal because I’m honestly tired of seeing players transfer every 1-2 years.
Congratulations 🎉🎉we celebrate them the media will never support this team ! CNN post a picture of the loosing team ! ESPN follows the loosing player to the locker room and Holly Roe was assigned to be the reporter to follow CC the entire tournament! Our girls will keep working hard and win games either you rocking with the home team or not ! Congratulations 🎉to Dawn and her team!
@MaxPower247 Damn big bro, You broke down South Carolina's anatomy with precision. I said the same exact thing about Malaysia Fulwiley. She's gonna have a helluva junior year as her IQ levels up, which we'll see the immediate results in the next season of just her sophomore year. I believe what Coach John Thompson was to Georgetown in the 80's and 90's, Coach Staley will be that to women's college basketball. South Carolina is gonna be a manufacturing plant of talented ballers because of Coach Staley's ability to unearth raw talent and her development skills as a coach. You were spot on, bro.
I'm an LSU fan and even I'm confused on this one😅🤪 She has a lot of potential but she plays way too soft for her size😊 she should literally be dominating
I remember seeing SC ranked 6th or 8th in preseason, and thinking, "yall really think a Dawn Staley led South Carolina team that just went to the final four won't be a top 5 team?" And then, they destroyed Notre Dame, got 1st place in the poll the next week, and never left that spot. You're right, this was a historic run that should be more talked about.
This is an excellent point. I remember when they smacked ND in Paris I thought "Oh boy...Dawn's got them girls goin' again..." and like you said, after that, they were wire to wire #1. Just awesome
@@elliemyers6435 EPIC point! ESPN nor CBS won't EVER make us Gamecocks feel any differently. They've got to ALWAYS get UCANT in the top, somehow, some way. It's ridiculous.
Great assessment and information. Been following Dawn since I was a kid in Philly. I’m so proud of what she’s been able to accomplish. I don’t understand why this SC team and their story wasn’t blown up by the media like it should have been.
Nobody thought that South Carolina and their coach Dawn Staley would have won a championship, forget going undefeated. They lost their top 7 players. As a basketball fan I really thought that LSU would probably repeat or at least be the favorite and to think this team is young.
In the words of laywitthebutta “we chase rings not awards” perfect definition of team basketball everyone has the same mindset and that’s to win! Some of these girls I know more than others but all of them are very down to earth and put in work congrats girls let’s keep this momentum going as we bring in Joyce and Maddie!
The ONLY REASON South Carolina is a powerhouse is because they play as a TEAM and doesn't place ALL their eggs in "one" OVERRATED pressure prone basket.
Thank you for this video. Thank you for giving SC their flowers. Does anyone know where I can find an SC 2024 tournament highlights reel? If I didn’t know any better, I think the media doesn’t want to release one…
Caitlin Clark is probably the best shooter in womens college basketball this year. I'll give her credit for that and I can only speak from seeing her play against SC. From what I saw, I really wasn't that impressed after the first quarter. Yes, she scored 30 points but, it took 28 shots to get 30. She shot like 40%. She's not a great overall player. She's definitely not much of a leader. She continually passed the ball to her teammates instead of taking open shots in the final quarter. She was sloppy with her ball handling, and I don't remember her doing much of anything on defense, and she was super protected by the refs. On top of all that, she has a bad attitude and poor sportsmanship due to her inflated ego. Point is she couldn't get the job done when the spotlight was the brightest
40%? She shot 10-28...that's like 35%. Raven really did a good job strapping her in the last three quarters...SC didn't double much and Raven held her to 5-20 after the first quarter
Point is she still has won every individual the last 2 years. She took a team with less talent to the last 2 seasons to straight Final 4 and national championship game appearances. She made sure SC was dethroned last season. She dethroned LSU this year. SC is loaded with ultra talent so this propaganda is bogus. So your opinion of Caitlin Clark is also bogus.
I wonder how many would have watched the game if USC played UConn. Twenty million watched Clark and Iowa, so I would guess around 4 million actually tuned in to watch the game. I have only watched 2 womens championship games and that was 2023 and 2024 when Iowa was playing. Really didn't care about USC or what their record was.
20 million watched Dawn's team spank loser I owa azz. 20 million people watched Raven Johnson shut CC down in the second, third, and fourth quarter. 3 steals, and a block from behind. Held her to 12 points in the second, third, and fourth quarter. Last year, they watched LSU do the same. Basketball is a team game, not a one person's game. CC can shoot, but that's it. No defense at all. She is not a complete player.
@@janice8618 All what you said DOES NOT take away from the FACT that CC scoring ability has brought HUGE viewership to NCAA basketball. The OP is absolutely CORRECT in making the assumption that millions watched the games BECAUSE of her. I am BLACK and support my sisters in every field of sports but I cannot deny that I have only paid this much attention to the NCAA games because of CC. IT IS WHAT IT IS whether you like it or not. She is going to be HUGE in the WNBA when she gets there and that should only help the POOR, POOR attendance and viewership of the league, say what you will.
@@janice8618 Here is a stat that might surprise you, the 2022 championship game, which South Carolina won had 280% less viewers then the 2024 game which had a solid 18.9 million viewers. That means 6.75 million people watched the game. Who cares if South Carolina won the game or not. So much for people caring how good South Carolina was or is. It was Clark who stole the tournament
@@janice8618unfortunately, you can't reach some folks that are basically going to spit out a bunch of worthless , empty calorie stats that didn't even win Iowa the game...as long as those same individuals refuse to take off their blinders and their Caitlin Clark beer-goggles, they will forever be warped 🥴🥴🥴🥴.. just let them tire themselves out
Opposing teams' worst nightmare is the longevity of this team. In the 2025-26 season, Raven Johnson will be a redshirt senior, Kitts and Watkins will be seniors, and Fulwiley and Tessa will be juniors. That alone sounds like a brutal starting 5, then you remember that if everyone else stays, you have a healthy Adhel Tac in her "redshirt" sophomore year, Joyce Edwards and Madisen McDaniel in their sophomore seasons, and Lord knows what kind of crazy new class of wonder-freshmen waiting in the wings.
You are so on it. They were saying SC depth in the beginning and after they go 39-0 now they have so much much talent than everyone else. If I remember that Award was supposed to go to LSU. If SC was so much more talented as they say where are the awards to back this up. Also other teams are said to be so young and SC has been there and more experienced if you listen to some not true SC is a very young Team and not one player was a starter to begin the season including Cardoso Great post.
Why is this team not getting more notoriety of their perfect season? Good ole misogny and racism? Guess the sport can only grow if you are yt? 39-0 and barely a whisper? So shameful.
So proud of my Gamecocks and their consistency they stayed level headed and focused all season long. Props to Dawn Staley as well she did a lot of self reflection and took accountability for last years lost and came back stronger. I’m honestly glad that they went undefeated and won a championship with this new team because it just shows her excellent coaching ability.
@@maxpower247 It really was just one major flaw, and that was perimeter shooting, which she fixed with Pao Pao + recruiting Tessa & Milaysa as well as Raven's improvement from behind the arc. I remember after SC just smacked Maryland, Brenda Frese said she thought this team was better than last year, and people thought she was crazy - it turned out, she was right...Well, tough to say. Last year's SC team was the best in the country, but played mediocre & Caitlin was outstanding in the biggest game - had it played a series not one game, they definitely would've won the title, but that's what makes the NCAA tourney so fun. But, losing, correcting the mistakes, developing players into this, and then coming back and winning it all is just BEYOND impressive.
That's amazing I didn't know all that. I don't watch sports. But the media we're hyping Iowa so much. My news feed would make you feel Iowa was only doing great things
Good job Goddess Gamecocks! Good things come to good people and you all were a big reminder that you can be a baller/competitive and still be humble! ❤🎉
Hey Max, i don't know if you up for the challenge but you might need to do that lady of troy documentary and sell the hell out of it before you post it on your page. I know I'll buy one. I don't know who will do it justice like you.
They lost 5 starters, including Amihere, a bench player who should have been a starter, especially elsewhere, and olivia Thompson, who hardly played and is a forgotten "Freshies" member. They lose all those players yet still go ahead and win the natty undefeated and, despite afew close calls, pretty much comfortably. That is crazy, when you consider the growing parity, NIL and the transfer portal.
Between all five Freshies, Saxton, and Fletcher, they lost 7 players to graduation. Then Talaysia left in the summer. Most programs would be on life support if eight players left at once, yet here's USC almost cruising to an undefeated season.
@@prettyugly I often mention Amihere when explaining just how deep SC's rotation has been for years. She appeared in 127 of the Freshies' 138 games, and only started in 4 of 127. Her impact off the bench for four years was enough to be a first round WNBA draft pick; there were four year starters at other schools who could only dream of that.
