Ace & I picked up a relatively quick (but not necessarily easy) public land limit on an EXTREMELY windy day. Pros & cons of bismuth #4s. They kill really well on "normal" range shots (under 45-50 yds). On real long, fairly difficult shots (like I had today), if you put a pellet or 2 into them, they WILL penetrate! (much better than #5s) So if the bird is able to fly a long, long way, he might never be recovered & might eventually die from wounds or become predator food. If he's not able to fly a long distance, go after him! Wounded birds under these circumstances often land & stay put. The 3rd rooster we got this day had MASSIVE internal bleeding, as much as I've ever seen before. No wonder he couldn't quite make it out of the cattails again.
