How in the world did Son pass that ball to Hwang while being blocked by THREE defensive players. The ball went through, in between the legs. This is why he's world class!!!
Son Heung-min was waiting for Hwang Hee-chan to come to the goalpost and was looking for an opportunity. And with three defenders, he had the ball and connected it to Hwang Hee-chan, a pass that seemed to be measured with a ruler.
That assist has to be one of the best. Dude was surrounded by all Portuguese and Hwang did not stop running hoping for opportunity. Well deserved goal and great execution 🔥
Son Heung-min earned one of the most heroic game-winning assists in World Cup history. He was wearing a mask to protect a broken face, exhausted from playing the entire match, and swarmed by Portuguese players. Son ignored the pain and fatigue and created that goal with his courage, strength, and determination 👏
Hwang Hee Chan's sprint at the last minute goal was just absolutely beautiful.. that dude just gave his all to score and he fully deserved it. Every moment of it
I wish Liverpool would've bought him instead of Minami o from the great young rb Salzburg team with halaand him and Minami I, I always thought his style of play would've adapted to the epl better whereas Minamino never gained the strength needed in the epl. but had amazing technique and finishing
Son’s cross was amazing, beautiful, and just proves his talent as a world-class player! Hwang’s goal was equally amazing and I love his energy in that crazy run! Kim’s goal also shows his passion as a player! I love the Korean spirit! :)
Son's mental awareness is astounding. Surrounded by three, and even four defenders, he saw Hwang barreling through the defense and slipped him an impossible nutmeg pass that a microsecond slower would have put him offside. The intersection of genius and luck. Son is a wonder.
Well said. To be able to stop his run under that kind of pressure (not just the defenders but the weight of the moment), and then to have the calmness of mind to make the exact best decision and execute it perfectly? Genius is the only word for that. This is a guy playing in the upper echelons of the game.
That was one of the most brilliant runs by Son. All that pressure on him and he kept the ball secure and played a splendid ball into a prime scoring position
I agree, you can see the pressure he's playing with. What a perfect way to alleviate all that tension at the end there. Now we can play with nothing to lose against Brazil!!!
We are desperately sick, with the sickness of sin. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and we need a Savior (Romans 3:23). THE Savior, who is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Only through Him we can be reconciled to God and be saved (John 14:6). Please turn to Him today, and turn away from sin. He provides something much better than the mere fleeting pleasures of this world could ever bring (1 John 2). In Him we have peace that surpasses all understanding, true rest, vindication, a friend, sanctification, and most of all- Salvation and an eternal hope. If you live for Christ you will have no regrets. (John 14:27, Matthew 11:28, Proverbs 18:24, 1 Corinthians 1:30, 21 and 22) and you will be serving the True Living God who loved us so much and gave His precious Son for us ^^ John 3:16-18: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
So freaking happy for South Korea. Lived there for 3 years when I was younger. The next round against Brazil is going to be a killer but let's celebrate that they advanced.
As a Mexican, I fully support my Korean brothers just as much as you guys supported us 4 years ago! You guys played an amazing game today and I wish you luck against Brazil in the Round of 16. Vamos, Koréa! 🇲🇽🤝🇰🇷
Mexico will always be my favorite 2nd team after Korea. I'm still sad that Mexico couldn't advance. But future is bright for your team! The young guys will get even better. Thanks for your support!
4:37 Hwang Hee-chan collapsing here to tears (looking more like those of relief than joy) just makes me cry too. He mentioned after the game that he was still in some pain from the injury that benched him in the last two games, but played anyways thinking this would be his last chance... Good work!
As a Japanese fan, I was rooting for South Korea the whole time! A lot of the critics counted South Korea out and looked at it as an easy win for Portugal, but you guys proved them wrong! I'm so happy for all the South Korean fans and players! A well deserved win!
I'm glad Korea won and I really believe that our striker Hwang is a future superstar, but nevertheless, I think there's no doubt that Japan is now the #1 team in Asia, a spot Korea has held for a long time. I think it's a great thing that all the Asian teams are getting better and pushing each other. Asia is going to win a WC but it won't happen unless we keep pushing each other.
Hyung Min Song is one of the best players in the world. The precision, accuracy and composure to make that pass in the 90th minute. Amazing. Might be the best assist in the tournament so far.
The last goal at 90 min was unbelievable! What a goal. sliding the ball between the legs after confirming Hwang's inbounding. Almost gave me a heart attack!
Great job KOREA! Kim’s powerful goal, Son’s well-thought cross, Hwang’s simply beautiful goal, and the Korea team’s overall passion for soccer are unmatched!
I'd have to say it's a major relief for Son, as he finally proved his worth in this World Cup. His assist was beautiful. From the long dribble to the stop, attracting 3 defenders to him, then pass the ball between the legs of the defenders, just for his teammate to tap in for the goal. It has to be the assist of the tournament so far!
Son is probably the hardest working player in any international team. He goes back and defends, he takes corners and still had the legs to make that run in the 90th min to make it happen for his team. Well done 👍🏾
I regret not watching this game live. I got legitimate goosebumps just from watching this video. If i watched this live and saw that goal I'd be jumping out of my seat in the middle of class
Korea were the underdogs, and they proved today that impossible is nothing! I legit cried so hard when they won! They deserved it! Good luck in Round of 16! 😍
If you’re not a big football fan, that second Korean goal may not have seemed special. In reality, I’d argue that’s the goal of the tournament. For a guy to see through and calmly place that ball between three defenders to an attacker is nothing short of incredible.
Also such a powerful & accurate finish. Many man would fluff that opportunity. And let’s not forget that both players had just sprinted 80+ meters to get there in the first place
@@nochannellol9276 the ball in front you is much faster than it looks on tv. You have to have super human reactions to block it unless you've predicted it. What they shouldve done is send one or two of those guys to hwang, the one who goaled
South Korea and Japan's showing in this World Cup was my absolute favorite thing. So much heart and passion and true to form team play. All around the beautiful game was seen from both Japan and SK. Would've loved to see them play each other
Dude the way Son timed the ball carefully and passed it to his teammate to get their second goal was amazing! I watched the match at my college lunch room and everyone was screaming when they won haha!!!
@@beurself1791 yeah purposely lost, without knowing the results of Ghana vs Uruguay, and without keeping in mind that Brazil could be their next game if Ghana wins. Wow.
Coming from his own end by himself with SIX Portugal players closing in on him. What unbelievable skill and patience. Best individual effort I've seen in this World Cup, and I'm a French fan who marvels at what Mbappe has been doing. Fantastic goal. Congratulations South Korea, you deserve to advance. Now shock the world and beat Brazil!
@@eugger3011 Really? Which World Cup have you been watching? He has 3 goals already, yet barely played in their 3rd game; came on late as a sub. He's been a threat every time he's touched the ball. He's been absolutely dominant.
Thank you Ronaldo! You are a true hero to Korean soccer fans. Nice assist and great defense. Without you, we would never made to round 16. Again, thank you for your great service.
As a Korean, I am proud of Korea!!! Son did a wonderful pass and Hwang just beautifully lead to a goal. Almost cried when I saw Son after the game. Just hoping to see another good game with Brazil!
I still can't believe that Japan and South Korea advanced together to the round of 16 as Asian countries. I think this is the result of both team's best efforts.
Having lived in Korea for 6 years not long ago, I was overcome with emotion at the end of this video. They made everyone proud with their relentless pursuit till the last minute. The tears are because of what everyone thought about them and what they achieved finally.
As an American I’m happy for South Korea full of wonderful people. South Koreans have treated me better than my own people when I lived in Seoul, South Korea. Let’s go South Korea !!! Rooting for you.
Son scoring without scoring, what an assist!!! Really falling in love with Hwang Hee-Chan, hope South Korea know how many people around the world are rooting for them! Cheers from USA
Hwang Hee-chan's presence was missed. So thankful he was able to debut today. Made an immediate impact for South Korea's pace when he came in. Son/Hwang one two punch 👊 🇰🇷
Okay I was hoping for Portugal to win but South Korea really deserved this. Played their hearts out. Those runs & sprints at the end were phenomenal not even to mention a perfectly placed pass past 3 defenders. Was sitting here with my jaw dropped. Could feel their spirits through it. Good for them & well played
As an Uruguayan i'm so happy for South Korea. They deserve it, How can you not root for them after they celebrate. Uru still needs like 4 years for all the new players to improve
The coach sucks, too conservative, Valverde will be a super star soon. Wish him growing into a combination of Gattuso+ Pirlo/Moderic. Nunez is a big question mark, can he be the next Suarez or Carvani? As a Liverpool fan, I really hope but he has a lot areas to work on.
Son, Hwang and rest of the South Korean team was just absolutely amazing. With South Korea making in to the round 16, it completes the Pacific rim teams of Japan, SK and Australia advancing.
I know! The fact that Japan beat 2 powerhouse teams to win the group and lose to costa rica shows that every game is unique and that no one is unbeatable. Such a fun world cup to experiment.
Japan and Korea have been on par with 2nd tier Euro teams, Portugal included for quite some time. If you followed them, you'd know these groups are wide open for the taking. Not exactly upsets.
Yes the run he made was amazing as he showed great belief and then the composure to make that pass when surrounded by 3 defenders is just spectacular !! .. The goal scorer will get the credit but the MOTM was Hueng min Son
Omg I'm actually crying and I'm not even that big of a fan of football, this really means a lot to not only South Korea, but mostly the players. SK can be a little harsh on their players when they lose, so the fact that they made it to the finals is huge. 태한민국 축하해요! ㅠㅠㅠㅠ 💜💜💜💜
Knock Out Stage! Still need 3 more wins to get to the Final. This is historical for Korea and Asia itself, Japan 2-1 vs Germany and Spain, Korea 2-1 Portugal, Saudi Arabia 2-1 Argentina the year of 2-1 for Asian upsets! Ill be cheering on Korea vs Brazil tough tough game but Korea have one of the best defensives in the tournament, if anything this aint gonna be easy for favorites Brazil.
@@day6atemywallet78 yes even coming from a big country I feel really blessed to be from France, to witness the 2006 run to the finals, 2018 Win, and now hopefully this run. Nothing gets me more excited than other countries beating other favorites. Obviously if my country loses to a "worse" team I bow and root for that country the next round. Never with the other favorites. Cannot let England win against France, or may hear about this for the next 30 years.
That assist from Son was an absolute beauty. It was basically 2 SK players against 4 Portugal players (3 surrounding him, with the 5th and 6th closing in). That pass through 3 defenders had to be perfect not only in placement but also timing; even just a split second delay would have put the scorer at an off-side position.
What an incredible match! From being the bottom of the group to advancing as runner up in a matter of minutes, S.Korea fought hard till the very end and it paid off big time. I felt bad for Uruguay but S.Korea truly deserves this.
This is probably the best underdog story in this world cup. Not only S.Korea had to beat Portugal, but Ghana also had to not give any more goals to Uruguay. Great job South Korea. Unbelievable!!!!
Son Heung Min made one of the best assists ever today. He still managed to make a world-class cross while 3 Portugal defenders surrounded him! Also, major credit to Hwang for putting in an amazing goal! South Korea has truly proven themselves in front of the world! ♥️
One of the all-time great nut-megs in World Cup history. At contact, there were 6 Portugal players surrounding Son. Truly a legacy-defining moment for a tremendous player.
It really is ! Nothing more enjoyable then seeing high powered countries not being able to punk anybody they want. Stardom of players world wide now I love it!!
@@Messi12292 soooooo, does this mean s. korea doesn't advance? does fielding a b team include players with 1 leg or 3 arms or 2 heads, shoes tied, cross eyed?🤪 asking for a friend. you seem to know soooooooo much. thanks in advance.🙌🙋♂😁✌😎
This is by far the most intense, entertaining, and underestimate-no-one World Cup. Losses and wins by threads. Every team left their all at the pitch. Maybe players playing mid season and being more fit than the summer window has been a blessing in disguise.
Yes! The swings back and forth are crazy! It just highlights how there are no dominant teams in the world any more (YAY!) So many national programs have come so far - and soccer is infinitely better for it.
THANK YOU THE KOREAN NATIONAL TEAM! THANK YOU SON HEUNG MIN! THANK YOU KIM YOUNG KWON! THANK YOU HWANG HEE CHAN! THANK YOU EVERYONE ON THE TEAM! YOU HAVE MADE US A KOREANS SO PROUD! :)
