South of France Hiking - Calanques Port Pin and d'En-Vau

Probably the most popular and most accessible hike in the Calanques region, visiting the two closest inlets to Cassis. The first at Port Pin is relatively easy for non-hikers and families with small children. The second inlet at d'En-Vau is a bit more work with a slippery, rocky trail. Both very beautiful and give you a good taste of the region.

Excellent touring info., thank you. Your brief introductory clip has revived my interest in planning to see this natural site I missed on my short visit to Marseille in 2010. 🕊️✌️

Hi there, i think your sons shoes looked like they would be suited for any type of hike that i have done in my life. I have hiked with really "clunky" winter boots in pretty steep terrain, and "lo and behold"; im alive to tell the tale, even though regular sneakers would be much better suited for the task :P

Great video! At the 2 minute mark is where we decided to turn around as it looked very steep and slippery like you said. Did it turn out to be very difficult getting down from that point, and also back up?

I thought it was quite difficult to get down because the rocks were very slippery and a couple times we had to sit down and extend our legs far down to get to the next stable standing spot. It wasn't impossible, just tricky. And that difficult part wasn't very long, just a few minutes. Going up was easier but still tricky. I would still go. But I would be very careful, especially if you are going with children or carrying lots of gear.

Hi there, sorry for this, but your son's shoes are not made for such a hike! Please buy him a good pair of hiking shoes before coming back to the wonderful calanques. Have fun on your tours! Patrick from Luxembourg

Agreed, those were horrible shoes for hiking. We have since upgraded. Thanks for the concern.
