South Park Cottages, the nation's first minority-developed tiny home community in Atlanta welcomes its residents in a groundbreaking, ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Real estate developer and CEO of Techie Homes, Booker T. Washington, hosts historical grand opening to South Park Cottages; his first of many future micro luxury communities in the United States. At the event, guests were able to celebrate this monumental accomplishment, tour floorpans, meet homeowners, and understand the future of Techie Homes.
Valued guests and speakers included:
Ambassador Andrew Jackson Young Jr.
Mayor Bianca Motley Broom, 27th Mayor of College Park, GA
Mayor Kasim Reed, 59th Mayor of Atlanta, GA
Julian Gordon, CEO of The Multi Family Movement
Washington plans to develop more luxury micro communities soon, starting in Union City, GA and we plan to continue coverage throughout the entire process.

Its already in the works, with the emergence of ADU's and the State of California giving incentives to landowners its only the matter of time when these communities will start arriving. They started with old buildings converting them into lodging spaces. In L.A. there is a mass movement to find placement for the homeless before the Olympics in 2028, stay tuned.

The revival of tiny houses have been around for more than a decade now. It's great to see developers embracing this concept to provide affordable housing. The main issue is maintaining affordability. I'm not so sure that has been accomplished with this development since these homes range between $190K-$230K for a 335 sq ft to 660 sq feet and the average cost per square foot in the same area is $198. Their competion, manufactured housing, follows the same concept, with more square footage and 2 bedrooms is priced between $56K - $75K. I guess it boils down to the buyer's preferences.

These are probably more expensive because there’s not true “tiny homes” that, in the beginning were built in one location on wheels and taken to another location to live, or move somewhere else. Many tiny home communities are for the homes on wheels and charge a lot fee like a trailer park, like $700-$800 a month. I looked at the website for this cottage community but couldn’t find the HOA fees, but yes, these are not cheap at all and I wouldn’t buy one. Hope they have a really strict HOA.

Getting a tiny home built in my backyard! This seems like a great idea for the builders =$$$ I personally wouldn’t live in one of these types of communities… BUT congrats to all those that will enjoy these homes! 👍🏾 I would like to see an update in about 5 years. This is AMAZING! Sooo fantastic! How about developing something like this for 55+ active living seniors right in downtown where all the amenities are. I would buy one or rent one! Builders often times think of younger people, but we need something like this to have a great 55+ comunity.

That place was Infamous for being crappy and they do not do a cleansing ritual to get rid of all that negativity it's going to fail do a cleansing ritual throughout the whole neighborhood
