So the kaiju references are, Barbara becomes Godzilla, Sidney becomes Jet Jaguar, Maltin becomes Gamera, and the last guy becomes Mothra. The mini twins are a reference to the Mothra movies as well. You gotta check out those old kaiju movies, they're a blast.

The spell Streisand says to turn into Mecha-Streisand is just Japanese for "Today, for me, it is a new beginning! From this day forward, my name is.... Mecha-Barbra-Streisand!" Also the song during the fight just says, again in Japanese "I really like Robert Smith" and "Barbara, Barbara, she's a b****, Barbara."

I originally thought this episode was related to the Streisand Effect, when she tried to get her house taken off news sites but lost in court because her address was publicly accessible and how the images were taken were legal. But that's a later episode...the South Park really hate her 😅.

As a South Park fan, I would personally nominate Sharon Stone to be the “new Barbra Streisand” in future South Park episodes. She’s really horrible IRL. In the world of South Park, she could definitely be revealed to be either a gelgamek, queen of the crab people, or maybe even a succubus - like the one related to the very one that tried to take Chef.
