@@tasdfhjkbbhg Why would we be angry? It's quite an honor to have our traditions and customs shown to the rest of the World as we only have 1 tv station. Indeed a great day for Canada, and therefore, the world.
The square wheels are nonsensical on the surface level, but really think about what these vehicles also imply: that Canada has a home-grown automotive industry. As a car guy, that’s just hilarious to me. In the real-world, Canada has of course had auto factories, but they’ve always been owned by foreign manufacturers (mostly American and Japanese), and they produce pretty much the exact same stuff that we get south of the border (the only real difference in most cases being a KPH speedo instead of an MPH one). In the past, you’d see Canada-exclusive stuff like the Frontenac, those weird Chevrolet/Pontiac hybrids, and Ford trucks rebadged as Mercurys, but they were still largely based on regular American vehicles. Canada will still occasionally get a car from one of the Japanese brands that we don’t, like the Acura CSX or the XP10 Echo hatch (aka, the Blueberry from “Psych”, which was filmed in British Colombia), but again, nothing that different. The closest thing Canada has ever had to a homegrown automaker was Bricklin, and even that was mostly an American effort (kind of like Delorean, they were really just taking advantage of a job shortage in New Brunswick). Knowing all of that, this idea that the Canada on the show has all of these weird boxy cars with square wheels running around that (presumably) Canadian companies designed and built themselves is really funny. It’d be like showing Americans winning the FIFA World Cup, or a French guy drinking a Budweiser.
This quote legit confirms the fungal nature of Nova Scotians - mushroom people do not comprehend the grammatical difference between "brake" and "break" and here we see it in the OP's comment...
I'm crying laughing. I know nothing of your kind, but I assume you are chilly weirdos akin to Icelandic people. Can you do an art show (live in a zoo; trans human) for a one month run in SoHo? You shall feast on fermented polar bear milk and whale blubber. Tasty offer, no?
@@paulhk2727 It's completely random. Btw don't ask questions like that on RU-vid because people will make up long bullshit explanations to try to convince strangers they are smart.
I dont plan on getting married. But if I do, I want a traditional canadian wedding, with Captain Crunch, pudding and tiny mushroom people, minus the killing and abduction.
@@luvlols4462 Obviously not! Who do you think I am? An american? However I deplore the lack of mooses, gooses and beavers representation in this scene; diversity is our strength and its current year etc.
@@Turambar3791 You're very right good sir. The devil is in the details indeed. A detail too often neglected. The pudding must hit the floor otherwise the children will grow up ugly and retarded.
Love how the Princess Canada is described as “ravishing, pure of heart, strong of body, so hot in the face.” 🤣 Just here after watching the “Worldwide Privacy Tour” episode. The contrast is hilarious.
At this point in the series Ike was voiced by Trey's 4 year old daughter. They would tell her the line, say it with her repeatedly together and then one time they wouldn't say it with her and they'd record it. Kinda like when a parent let's go of a bicycle do the kid does it on their own. It's super funny and cute. It's in the documentary Six Days to Air of anyone is interested.
As a Brit who sat in to watch the Royal Wedding just to see what it would entail, then seeing this episode on it’s first airing on Comedy Central, this was fucking hysterical. I still quote “As is tradition,” almost every week, whenever something predictable happens. This episode was so wacky but God I love it.
It's funny because Matt Stone was annoyed with all the attention the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton was receiving and Trey Parker was surprised they kept saying during the wedding "As of course is tradition". I mean who can blame them??
I say “as is tradition” all the time as well. Once I had plane get delayed several times before getting canceled and each time it was delayed I went “this is ofc not as tradition”
Make sure you watch the end of the traditional wedding. It's a total farce that doesn't follow tradition if the prince doesn't rip off the princesses arm and shoves it up his own ass!
Caleb Pearl it’s also a caricature of how stupid racism is. The only direct racist dialogue in the show is between Americans and Canadians, everything else with race is just to make fun of society
The difference was that with Will & Kate a lot of what they had to work with was rumor. So it was fanciful & silly bc they were not working with facts. But with Harry & meg, they were dealing with truth. It’s true that they claimed to want privacy from the media then decided to spill the tea using none other than the… media. They are always complaining & whining, meg claims she’s an advocate for women & women’s rights but she’s been accused of bullying…women. Harry claims he wants to live in privacy & he hates the media for interfering yet HE is the one who spilled secrets on his family to the media that were unnecessary & all for money. They do everything for a brand & are very one dimensional. South Park nailed this truth of harry and his wife.
@@kanamenoname210 but it’s still a rumor, the mockery that you’re shallow, fake humans is based on their own actions, that’s why it looked way worse. I watched the South Park episode where will pulled Kate’s arm off and pegged himself. It’s silly and over the top. Harry and his wife were played exactly how ppl see them. That’s way worse than a rumor.
"What a glorious day for our country and indeed the world" , assuming other countries citizens would give a crap about a royal wedding in that BBC voice take was brilliant.
"the princess in some kind of isometric cube - certainly breaking tradition now" - wonderfully captures the dry monotone delivery of commentators on such occasions, which always sounds like they're actually delivering dry sarcasm and witty satirical insight.
I will never forget this day. I was in the Abbey as well when this happened. It was just awful. I thought it was a earthquake and people were panicking and screaming all over the place especially when the vat of pudding tipped over. I was shocked beyond belief when that happened . Shame to have all that good pudding just go to waste . It was a tragedy! My country was in mourning for a long time after that pudding incident. My god please pray for us everyone
2:02 "Bright beam of light shooting through the hall and the ceiling. Princess now in some kind of... isometric cube. This is certainly breaking with tradition now"
I am a Canadian, from the telephone city! currently living in England where I advise natives of our culture ... you know what most people over here say of us? "Canadians are so nice." yep ... we can take it ...
How dare you say 100% accurate for a canadian royal wedding, buddy?? The princess being kidnaped and the pudding knocked certainly broke with tradition, eh!
I'm really suprised about how accuretly south park portrayed Canada. As a Canadian I couldn't be more proud of them for caring so much for our culture. :)
I like that the actual traditions of the ceremony are so absurd that the announcer had to clarify that chunks of the abbey ceiling falling to crush spectators was in fact NOT customary lol.
