South Salt Lake PD: More than 20 drivers cited for not obeying crosswalk laws

A concerning trend in South Salt Lake as more people head outdoors this spring. A police spokesman said about 40 drivers were stopped and half were cited for not following crosswalk safety laws.

I hope they do more operations like this. I lived in Utah for 8 years and the drivers there need to be put back in line. It’s gotten WAY out of hand

They should just build overhead pedestrian passings in a lot of areas… I only see one by a school

Many times, as a driver, you don’t even see the pedestrians until you are in the crosswalk. The view is blocked by other cars. Or there is someone standing on the corner, but you can’t tell if they want to cross, or in which direction. Or how about the pedestrians who cross against the light? This isn’t all about inattentive or reckless drivers.

let me get this straight, so the pedestrian has to be completely off of the street in order for me to proceed driving? Guess I've been driving dirty.
