South Sister: Green Lakes Route (4K) 

For the 2022 annual Uptown company climb, we picked South Sister in mid September. The Green Lakes route is far less traveled, a little longer and a bit more rugged then the standard route. Setting out from Green Lakes Trailhead, we passed countless beautiful waterfalls! From Green Lakes, the real climbing began, scrambling up loose rock and scree, exploring more waterfalls, snow caves and the toe of the Lewis Glacier. From the Lewis Tarn we joined up with the standard route for the final ridge to the top. Unfortunately the smoke from local wildfires got very thick, so no views were had. Overall it was a long day, but the team pushed through and did great.
