Coming from the town of Camborne (the true home of Cornish rugby) I remember watching this game on tv. I was gutted my parents has got ‘complimentary’ tickets.
I remember Paul Hull of Bristol carving my team Pontypridd to shreds in a friendly played at the Memorial Ground in the early 90's, Bristol winning by some ridiculous score like 62 -7. But the proud Pont had their revenge the following season at Sardis Road by 47-12, if I remember correctly!
This is the game where Victor Ubogu was racially abused by one of the all blacks.....I know who it was coz I heard it loud and clear .....fair play to Victor he didn't bat an eyelid and in the subsequent test match he won the game for England with an amazing tackle
Callard the traitor capped for Wales at schoolboy level then senior level for England .Wouldn’t of got in the Wales senior team at fullback.I played with him and against him very overrated player .
